Griefing when trying to do quests

I am on a PVE server, and I frequently engage in PVP. I am full War Hero with some Elite War Hero gear. I have no problem with players griefing in the Southern Western Shelf Ilum PVP area, especially since you can always switch instances if you can't get your Gree PVP dailies done. However, I do find it annoying when fellow PVPers on a PVE server go up to the Northern area to grief players still flagged for PVP. There is nothing cool about a player who is full War Hero ganking players in full Tionese or Columi who traveled to the Southern Shelf for a minute and got flagged for PVP. I know they simply have to just wait the 5 minutes back at the base camp to avoid this, but I just depise the PVPers who do this. You are not proving anything, and if you were a true PVPer you would rather a challenge. Three-shotting some newly leveled player who isn't even in PVP gear does not make you leet, it makes you a douche. Although, I will say that those players are my favorite to kill whjen they attack me in the PVE area, assuming that I am a noob like all the others. It just annoys me. If you want to PVP, then go PVP with others who are similar skill level. Beating up on someone you know you will kill in seconds proves nothing.

Heh, you gave me a great idea. Stuff my WH and EWH mods into tionese shells and walk around near the border while flagged. Classic "honey pot" trap...

The problem is that it's supposed to be an event to help revive open world pvp. BW is going about it the wrong way, players should be rewarded for wpvp.. instead we get pve dailies again that are simply in a pvp area. So there is no incentive to pvp other than just for the pure joy of the challenge and massive fights.

Would be nice if BW did something with their non-existent wpvp system. Sadly this game is too heavily based off of pve'rs

If you are flagged for PvP and you are killed by another player, this is working as intended and no griefing.

If you dont want to PvP, dont flag for it.

I realize that you can be flagged by AOEs, It has happened to me, i can only accept it as a thing and try to avoid it.

On the plus side there are no death penalties for a PvP Death and IMO PvP Death a great way to teleport back to the mission area to turn in quests.

You can try and justify it all you want. The fact that is possible to kill players that you know are far inferior to you does not mean you are not a douche for doing it. I could easily smoke some of the players I see that are flagged for PVP in the northern area. I refrain because it would prove nothing. I don't have to kill a noob because I know I can. What are you trying to prove? Nothing. You are trying to cause that person "grief." Which makes you a... GRIEFER.

And there are places for griefers. They are called PVP servers.

As a PvEer mainly I hate the ganking mentality in general, all it shows when it's 10 vs 1 is that there are 10 cowards in that fight that can't do a 1 on 1.

However in the case of PvP areas then it's a different story, if you go into a PvP area alone with PvE gear and get jumped by a whole guild or premade in full WH/EWH then it's your own fault because you set yourself up for a gank, at the end of the day you flagged yourself by going in there, the quests are marked as PvP so therefore you should expect to do some PvP.

IMO, the BoL weapons are the vast majorities's (pvpers and pvers alike) objective this time. The way the event was designed, the way the game works, clearly puts in advantage one crowd to get this objective. You may see there's nothing wrong with that, but I disagree.
Hmm... ok. As a PvE player I disagree with your premise. On one toon you can definitely cap rep points. Can also earn rep points to be up to par with any one toon player playing in any style. It's simple. While the PvPers are doing there thing in their area, you as a PvE player go take down a WB. Its a farmable activity and you get a datacore every time. Not to mention Xeno which gives and artifact but is only a weekly.

In short, if you wanted to, you could cap rep every week and stack rep for the next week quite easily just by doing PvE events. So... this idea that PvPers have an advantage is false. You see, in the time that they are doing their PvP events, you can continue to do your PvE events. And when they come over to do the PvE events... you can continue to PvE. Yes... the WBs even things up so to speak. And if you don't want to do WBs? That's your choice. But then... that's you turning down a PvE activity.

Either way, it all comes back to the player and how much they want to participate.

I'm going to ahead an disagree with on this one.
First of all they used to reward valor in old Ilum and people abused it by kill trading, so they took that away.

Secondly, just because the pvp missions are objective based in nature, doesn't mean they are pve quests. They are pvp objective based quests in a pvp area that awards pvp medals. How is that now pvp mission with pvp rewards?? There are objective based warzones, are those pve? No they are pvp with objectives that reward you pvp comms, just like the even pvp missions.
That's why they call it space, cause there is so much of it.

You are correct. I overgeneralized. It is fundamentally impossible for a griefer to exist on a PVP server in my opinion. The fact that you are on a PVP server means you are incapable of griefing, because everyone on that server should know what they are getting themselves into. Sorry about that.
