They are not unobtainable, they are not meant to be obtained until the event returns.
They are most certainly obtainable this time around. I intend to have 3 lightsabers and a saberstaff a week from tomorrow.

Got 13140 rep this week and will get 13410 tomorrow when I pop all my trophies to get cap. Then next Tuesday I will do the same for a total of 39960. That puts me over the amount need for champion in 1 week from tomorrow. I already have enough helixes for all my weapons. It was also stated the vendor will stick around after the event.

These repairs are not that bad. My guildies have never consumed their entire repair stipend and this last week was no different.

Edit: you don't have to wait for the next event to get your weapons by the way.
Why they're wiping too much? BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO HAVE FUN.
As the OP said, they're a small guild. Seems they're casuals.
Me and my guild was farming TFB HM since 2st week TFB release, we wiped 36x to kill Firebrand/storm NiM. Imagine 36x wipe with the new repair cost...

*shrug*

We will see, Like I said if they can make it right before my time runs out then maybe.
But really, when do they ever listen to me?

Winner winner, chicken dinner.

Doing Story Mode ops is okay-ish for learning the absolute most basic gists of fights or getting people new to raiding some gear and at least some hands-on experience in a raid environment, but spending any time actually learning SM fights is only going to wipe you repeatedly in HM until you re-lean the stuff and adapt your strategies to your group's makeup.

One way or another you're going to have to learn the HM fights some time, and knowing the SM versions of them won't reduce your wipes.

Of course I don't know why I'm bothering posting in this thread, since it's just going to be locked and people pointed to the existing "why are repairs so damn high?" megathread.

If you're in a good guild that doesn't wipe to silly stuff you're looking at a 200k to 300k repair bill a week. With how easy it is to make credits (most of which can be done by even the most casual player) I don't see the problem.

Edit; I was generous with the amount. Repairs should likely be around 100k or so.
the arrogance ...how long have u been farming TFB NiM?

Wiping is the opposite of fun. It's a necessary evil to get where you need to go. Wiping to the extent that you accrue a million repair bill means they need to re-examine what they're doing as that is far too excessive.

Progression should have a cost. I'm unconcerned about progression wipes when we get the new content.

Don't worry mate, just do as many have done already :cancel your subs and we'll see how bioware will react.

I don't have any confidence on Bioware anymore, they may work on the issue but despite several thread (hundreds of posts and dozens of thousand of view) since they applied 1.7 , Bioware applied 2 patches and never made any fall back regarding the repair cost.

Others have already the same problem with all consequences on the community :

Your making an assumption that everyone is in a hard core guild filled with players who have no life outside the game. I cant get on this game for that long now and when I see an hour of dailies gone to repair bills because I tried to get through a flashpoint with an entire group of fresh level 50's, then its not worth it at all. Dailies are boring but to realize you did them and have nothing to show for it is a reason to stop playing. I canceled my sub because this issue was the freaking last straw.

This, this 1,000,000 times THIS!

EA needs to stop doing stupid sh... that gives people that "last straw" moment. The game has potential but so so many little things pile up.

Stop making stupid little mistakes, EA! I want a game I can play! I don't want to see this cool game go the way of AC2!

Nope, not gonna do it.

Games should be fun, not work.
They said they might bring the other events back, this event was designed to reoccur regularly, though people like you would probably freak out less if they actually said how often the even will recur. Also, the vendors aren't going away with the event, so if you have a bunch of alts you can probably get enough rep items to keep capping it every week after the event ends. I predict that there will be players with these weapons before the next cycle.
