I have to agree!

I had my hopes up last nights outage was going to fix REPAIR Costs or GTN and instead the stupid "Personal Ship Transport" feature was the priority (Which is still broken). WOW! That speaks volumes as to what is a priority (Cartel Coin market first - Real game impacting Bugs 2nd).

The maintenance was canceled. Atleast there wasnt a 3rd and worse bug adding into the mix. Got a decent number of corrections to work on that weren't there. I just don't understand how hard it is to fix whats already broken before adding more content and new things to fix...

At the risk of repeating the obvious, this is why skipping the PTS is penny wise and pound foolish.

This right here. I understand with the need to get new content out to the masses, but there is a reason that MMOs have a test center.

STOP IT! We all know because it would MAKE SENSE to actually test things out before releasing them to an already pissed off group of people. (Common Sense <> BW) - LOL

Idea - Next time you deploy a major patch do the following:
  • TEST is on PTS first
  • Don't ADD it with a major new event
  • Don't ADD it with something that has credit sink changes

GTN
  • Searches on the GTN are now limited to 4,000 results (500 pages). If this limit is reached, players will need to use other search criteria to refine the search.
  • In order to improve overall GTN performance, when searching the GTN, each word must now be at least 3 characters long to be accepted.

Please keep in mind that we will be monitoring player feedback and performance with these changes and we will update if we have any new information. Thank you and apologies once again.

Wait, so you're telling me that forcing players to put in more characters increases performance on the GTN? Not only does that not make sense, the GTN's performance did not need much help, it works fine as designed (though the design could definitely use some work) all this does is take away convenience for the player.

I'd much rather be able to just enter "27" to find my dreadguard stuff than have to shift through 10 pages of stuff I don't want in order to get to what I do want. I don't care if my search takes .0003 seconds longer as a result, and I don't see why you should either.

Whoever decided to use the Hero Engine should be fired, arrested, and put in prison for ruining something that cost 200 million dollars to develop.

I find a lot of these complaints in this thread rather amusing. All it requires is that you put in a little more effort and use the other search fields such as finding which stat is on the modification. Or search for the exact name of the modification like "Reflex Armoring" and then sorting those by level. Hate on BW if you want, but honestly this change has very little impact for players.

It's an imperfect system I know, but it's what we have to work with. I made suggestions to BW back in beta to include more search fields, especially when it comes to the particular stats I want. For example, if enhancements can have a total of four different stats on them, then there should be four stat fields in which to use to narrow down results. Looking for mods with at least 50 cunning? There should be fields to set min/max range of a stat. That "Usable By:" field? **** - it doesn't work and hasn't since beta. Convert that field to something else that does work such as another Stats field. At least then I could sift through all of the Aim/Defense gear instead of items with just defense on them.

BW has created a very convoluted system when it comes to modifications. Many items have different names with the exact same stats on them. I used to track them in a spreadsheet, but have since lost that data and don't really have the inclination to do it again.

Anyways, I agree the GTN needs work and a little bit more than just simple polish. Adding a few more Stats fields and stat range fields would help tremendously. Modifications need to be reviewed and any exact duplicates removed regardless of the name (and crafters reimbursed for their training costs).
Went outside yesterday, graphics were awesome but gameplay sucked.
RIP OPOD . 12/1/11

This post is an example of someone that doesn't regularly buy or sell level 50 item modifications. There are currently 5 grades of items that would fit the same name, level & stat choices as suggested by the quoted posts - which is the whole point of this thread. Right now using the existing tools you get rank 23, 24, 25, 26 & 27 items as valid results and no way to filter them further on the GTN.
