Yeah I can't believe they are putting out an expansion.

Thats like Bethesda saying their games are completely fine and shoving dlc one after the other while plenty of their day 1 bugs are still there.

I still shudder at the thought of their mmo.

There is no MMO that doesnt have day 1 bugs...and they will still put of things that will make them money cause they are still a company that needs to make money or they will go bye-bye.

They want to make lots of money? Put in character transfers first.

-puts on sheep hat-

-looks in mirror-

I can deal with that

-clears throat-

Anyway, bug fixes (maintenance) and expansion development (art and design) have about as much to do with each other as Darth Vader has to do with Captain Picard

-dork snort-

Unfortunately, it's a lot easier to develop new content, then it is to fix PAST content and bug problems. As the CTD bugs are limited to certain computers (seems to involve computer incompatibilities and TOR's inherent engine stability level more than anything else) and the most common bugs (not being able to view certain companions in the preview screen for instance) aren't game breaking (more like annoying) the maintenance team are focusing on other areas (the ship port legacy issue for one) while the expansion team comes out with a new product in a month or so

BW isn't one consolidated room for of all-powerful mindflayers dewd it's several people - several DEPARTMENTS - spread out working on different portions of the game. ************ because we have new content - something that doesn't REALLY affect the maintenance team beyond giving them new work - seems rather uncalled for to me

Though I AM just a sheeple after all

Because the people that work on bug fixes, basic structures such as character transfers and other daily maintenance type items are not the same people that work on expansions that simply take advantage of the existing structure of a game?

Because people playing MMO's have to be kept entertained or else they will move on to something new and the only way to do that is to expand the game?

Because Bioware isn't a charity but is instead a corporation that requires profits in order to survive and grow?

People left the game cos there was no new content, not cos there were bugs.

People accept bugs and work around them.

Rather than ironing out every single quirk and focus on tweaking the client so some obscure configuration of pc hardware doesn't ctd in one flashpoint they should really focus on adding content. I have a rig that runs everything smoothly yet I CTD esseles. I don't want them to waste a second on tackling that issue, I'll alt tab in/out during the hyperspace jump or tweak the nvidia control panel with one of the fixes people found. Devs should do Makeb. And after that is done do another, bigger one. Stagnation is death.

I understand some of these responses but heres my view

Whos fault is that they didnt think about or plan for endgame?

Whos fault is that they focused on rerolling atls as endgame?

Whos fault is for puttting next to no endgame content even a year later?

Whos fault is it for prioritizing of issues poorly?

This is why 1 million plus people left. Thier is a lot incompetent ametures in charge and developing here. I dont care what anyone tells me i have seen a lot of unethical and frankly stupid things done in this game constantly

When people asked for endgame content we didnt asked to be charged for it especially those who are subbed thats a slap in the face especially when you have the lead designer saying its going to be free lol.

Im sure EA will blame the customer like when they said tor was a miss.

As for the arguement they need money well thats thier fault for bad planning and thinking people were gonna reroll 100 alts. They lost money b/c thier stupid plain and simple

You know what makes people stay and pay

Tons of endgame constant flow of content

Objective based open world pvp (this has failed badly 2 times in a row now)

Real authentic star wars looking armor not anime armor or antenna's or football helmets with curlers on them. A plain black/brown robe off the movies would sell like elmo dolls at xmas but no we have clothes for droids?

World of Warcraft has done it about... Four times, and they're truckin' along with a decent player base.
