It's not like the people who are being paid to develop the expansion could be retasked to do bug fixing. What does the OP expect to happen? That all artists, writers, modelers, animators, designers, etc. are laid off until the bugs are fixed?

Silly rabbit.
The OP expects to have bugs within a game they pay for fixed in a timely fashion and not told "no ETA on that"! The OP expects that said product be tested diligently before release to ensure the highest standard of gameplay to a subscriber.

Anything else I can do for you?

And that's just the one's I've been hit by.
Funny enough, I still have to experience the first one myself. Somehow, I manage to run this game for 8 or more hours straight, switching around characters, racing around planets (I did the Gree one today) without a single crash. A crash to desktop happens to me maybe twice a MONTH. And no, I don't have an awesome computer, some "pro-gamers" would probably laugh at my set up: "only" a quadcore, "just" 12 gigs, an AMD graphics card with PASSIVE cooling? Can't get any worse than that according to some. Mind you, it is probably still well above avarage. And no, I don't run with everything set to max, I'm quite sensible about my settings, so I reduced some of them, like the grass draw setting, bloom and shadows, all available from the preferences, and I haven't even reduced them much.

The second one I never experienced myself. But on half the BT/Esseles runs I do on my alts, I see one of my group members disconnecting. I usually inform them of the trick to tab out right before the jump, and some of them got back at me later to thank me for telling them about that workaround. I have yet to hear from someone that the trick didn't work for them. So it's pretty common, the workaround isn't convenient, and it should definitely be adressed. It's definitely a local problem, since some people always experience it, others never experience it, and nobody "sometimes" experiences it.

We also don't know yet whether the expansion will involve any bugfixes. Some bugfixes require a small overhaul. An expansion also requires an overhaul, so it sounds efficient to roll the two overhauls into one. The PTS download for Makeb is said to be 2.8 gigs, and that doesn't really sound like that's just the expansion. So I'm hoping there's more to it. The least they could do is fix the blinking speeders, by either removing the alpha channel from the speeders' textures (and turning them into 24-bit textures instead of 32-bit, bigger isn't always better) or changing the particle effects of the exhaust into many (100+) tiny particles instead of 4 big ones. Bugfixes need overhauls. some more than others. And an expansion is an ideal moment to adress them.

Honest question....besides the memory leak which is responsible for almost every crash related issue and the framerate issue as well as the quick travel bug......what exactly are you talking about. Every game will have bugs. You talk as though there is this large number of bugs...

Exactly, some people like to make it bigger than it really is.

I used to play WoW ages ago. Throughout the ENTIRE TBC EXPANSION, I always crashed in Kara on the stairs going up just before turning left to Moroes. It's a pretty unknown issue that game had, don't ask me why. My whole guild knew about it though and crossed fingers for me and made jokes about it: "I'm gonna pull, bye bye Ash!". In the same expansion, there was an area in world somewhere where the same issue happened. That one was slightly more known, and they "fixed" it several times. Though the fixes never worked.

People really have to learn that no game is ever perfect. Bugs are a fact of life. Developers hate them as much as you do, if not more. And really, most bugs in this game aren't even noticable and far from gamebreaking. Some things are easy to fix. Other things simply *can't* be fixed without an overhaul to half the games' engine. Some fixes are perfect and cure a wound. Other fixes are bandaids to cover up a mistake, prevent further bleeding and keep the whole together. But you can't treat everything with a bandaid, while a cure might take time. In some occasions, we're even looking at having to grow transplants from scratch. We just got one of those with the new PvP area and missions in Ilum. And transplants too will need to adjust to their new host.

New player here (Started in December). Since I started playing I've found a ton of bugs and problems in the game. Normally, when I find a bug I first google to find out if others have run across the same. With this game I noticed that every single bug I found (and reported) had been posted about on the forums and known about in most cases since the game got launched. I've also heard that several of the features of the game won't be in the expansion (reusable stims to name one).

Quite honestly, I feel no urge to buy an expansion if they're not even fixing the current content. Once I see the vanilla version of the game improve with its bugs and problems, I'll consider the expansion. I'm already considering dropping my sub because of these problems. I can overlook this sort of thing with a free to play game, but I expect more from subscribing.

Why should i buy an xpac with very little info and thier selling point is sgr npcs? No thanks pre order items are crap. The other issue is you cant use your cartel coins to purchase the xpac lol. Im not so sure this even an xpac based on james ohlen chat about it. Ill see how makeb is 3 months after since my only interest was open world pvp and thats screwed due to incompetence. Even then its not about the war its about the hutts which i could care less about maybe if i could played a 3rd faction as a hutt cartel member but nope. /shakes head

This "expansion" should be renamed: Rise of the Cartel Market because we all know that's all they're going to add, other than the lolone planet.

I am glad they are doing an expansion, they need the money to keep this game going and as a subscriber I gladly gave the little amount of $10 for it, it will be worth it.

1. Why call a glorified content patch an expansion?
2. So, you really find idea of seeing a bug fixed more exiting than seeing entirely new content?
3. Do you think people fixing bugs and people designing new content are the same people?
