Griefing when trying to do quests

I have never gotten flagged for PVP while running the PVE missions. This doesn't seem that complicated. Just stay out of the PVP area if you don't want to PVP. I would think it would take a good deal of careless or reckless clicking to end up flagged outside of the designated area.

Has not happened to you so it must not be true. There is good logic.

It happens to me. I am at the NOT CONTESTED area, the North area, working ont he heroic. As we fight the quest the opposite faction walks/speeder into the fight. You immediately get flagged as PvP because you "attacked" them. Then they turn around and kill us, PvE players with no PvP gear. It happens, and there are bands roaming around doing it. And I STAYED OUT of the PvP area. And I DONT DO the PvP quests. Dont even pick them up from the terminal.
I don't know if this is a Sith thing, but at the beginning of every game conversation my first thought is "You are so dead"...

Yeah I have had no problems and have continued to use my AoE skills. I have had yellow named players driving or running through my AoE, some just cus that's the quickest route to where they are going, some that look as if they think it may cause me to flag. Doesn't work. I've read it can happen if the player stealths themselves and to be honest by the time I am getting to the end of the combat specimen mission, I always hope my Flyby will uncover a cloaker to mix things up a little, but so far I have been disappointed.

Yeah but the griefers manage to flag people outside the pvP area, which is , I think, what these complaints are about.

I had some girl in my heroic mission team last night nearly in tears because she kept getting flagged by healing others who would get exploit flagged by stealthers.

Of course, its nothing to cry about... but still made me feel bad for the pVE people who just REALLY dont want to PvP, dont go into the pvp area, yet still get flagged by griefers.

This all comes down to the games inablility to stop this unintentional flagging, which in many cases, is indeed griefing because the players flagging the PvEr's are using methods that interfere with basic PVE play and force flag people not interested in PvP, and also NOT in the PvP free for all area.

It saddens me to hear this. Honestly. And I'm one of the people who will run around in the pvp area killing everything in sight.

Getting people to accidentally get flagged though is a load of crap. They should make it so AOE attacks don't hit people who flagged for pvp if you are not flagged for pvp. As for healing people with a pvp flag, it still has to trigger.

I never stated that it couldn't happen. I'm sure it does. It just seems to me like it wouldn't happen very often. On the rare occasion that it happens, if you are unable to finish what you're working on, go to your ship, drop the flag, and get back to business.

If that happened to me, no I would not be happy about it. But, I would just take steps to correct it. We're all aware that the risk is there. It's just probably not as big of a problem as some people are making it out to be.

Fixing the play mechanic would be ideal. I find it strange that it was made that way to begin with.

The usual PvPer/ganker/griefer has no disadvantage whatsoever to get the most rep. None. Yes, they can get the rep from the PvE quests with no trouble. But PvEers can struggle. They definetely struggle on the PvP area and they can struggle on the PvE area as well due the AoE trick.
With the weekly caps, nobody is getting the weapons from the Gree any time soon.

Then you understand and are not the person I need to convince. You like PvP and play on the server that's designed for that. Everyone there consented for PvP when the joined the server, but on a PvE server, I think those of us that made the conscious choice to play on that kind of server should be able to play the way we like. Like I said, it's already biased in favor of PvP players. On a PvP server, no one can choose to unflag, but people can choose to flag on a PvE server despite how many of us playing on that server feel. I do blame BW for putting those quests in that area; but, ultimately, they aren't the ones pulling the trigger or throwing the lightsaber. At the very least, PvP people playing on a PvE server could show some discretion.
