Griefing when trying to do quests

My full point is groups in top PVP gear being a'holes and griefing. You get nothing from killing anyone in this area so why is there a quest in this type of are on a PVE server? As far as I can see Bioware is breaking its own harassment policy.

Is it 100% necessary to do these quests probably not but I pay my subscription so I can enjoy the game. The full idea of rolling a char on a pve server is that you can PVP WHEN YOU WISH TO , and not be harrassed when trying to quest.

I am not saying there shouldnt be any PVP on a PVE server, but they should not be where there are quests for a PVE event. Like i stated in my original pot if people want to pvp while questing why do they not roll a pvp server?

The usual PvPer/ganker/griefer has no disadvantage whatsoever to get the most rep. None. Yes, they can get the rep from the PvE quests with no trouble. But PvEers can struggle. They definetely struggle on the PvP area and they can struggle on the PvE area as well due the AoE trick.
How is this disingenuous? I only have one 50. I have to accept the fact that I will not be able to cap my rep. That's not the event's fault. Not everyone should have everything in the game.

There are no PVP missions in this event. How many players do those "pvp" missions require you to kill? None. They're PvE missions taking place in a PvP area.
Still, I think the PvP area should've been faction based on PvE servers, instead of Free For All. Free For All simply doesn't fit with this event. Unlike Outlaws' Den, where the FFA does fit the circumstances. For PvP server, it does make sense to make the PvP area free for all, since otherwise it wouldn't have any additional draw compared to other areas in game. But for PvE servers, that is not the case. Different rulesets make different solutions suitable.

To add to this... the event is recurring. Some of us will just have to be patient and wait a little longer to get the weapons. It's not like we only have two weeks and then never have a chance again.

With two characters, one doing only the PvE missions, I managed to reach my weekly cap yesterday with a stack of trophies to carry forward to next week. There is every opportunity to gain the full amount of rep allowed per week by doing only the PvE quests, though whether anyone will be wielding the BoL weapons by the end of the event will be determined by the cap on rep, not the fact they refrained from a couple of PvP missions.

EDIT: For those denying these are PvP missions, this isn't really for you to determine.
1) BW determined they are and clearly mark them as such.
2) You cannot use a companion to complete these missions.
3) You cannot unflag. If you do not wish to be flagged you must leave the zone.

Sigh. When did MMO communities become so full of carebears?

I detest warzones in general in this game, but can enjoy the occasional bit of open world PvP for its spontaneity. Seriously, just grab some friends and run the quests. Worst case scenario, you get killed a few times, which costs you absolutely nothing since PvP deaths don't incur a repair fee, and if you really can't beat whoever's killing you, just come back another time. Alternatively, don't do the quests. But the constant whining of "PvP happened, Bioware pls fix" gets pretty old.

I will say that having a PvP-specific stat that applies in open world PvP is pretty stupid (well, having a PvP stat in general is pretty stupid, but this isn't the time or the place for that discussion) because it does give full EWH-geared players a near insurmountable advantage over non-PvPers trying to participate in open world PvP. But while some kind of fix for that would be nice, it's hardly a reason to remove the PvP area. Bottom line, don't go there if you're afraid to die a couple times.

A PVP quest doesn't need to have 'Kill (this many) players' in order to be considered a PVP quest. It's a quest held in a contested area and the challenge is completing them while also being attacked. I think everyone would agree that these quests are rather easy. Especially the orbs quest.

[Go get an orb, bring it here and click this object] That would be a pretty terrible PVE quest, the same goes for the other quests whose enemies and pretty weak and collection is pretty easy. But because you need to be constantly watching out for yourself it becomes harder, and there in lies the PVP. BioWare even put [PVP] infront of the quest, this isn't up for debate.

Voidstar does not require you to kill anyone. Simply get to the Datacore. Why isn't any PVE-ers complaining they can't complete the 'Voidstar' mission without getting 'ganked' by the other faction?

If you're PvPer vet with only one char you'll much easier time getting all the stuff from the event. If you're PvEer with one char, well, you'll definetely struggle.

IMO, the BoL weapons are the vast majorities's (pvpers and pvers alike) objective this time. The way the event was designed, the way the game works, clearly puts in advantage one crowd to get this objective. You may see there's nothing wrong with that, but I disagree.

Most people in the there are not top level pvpers but average geared wh/BH equipment. There might be the odd elite group trolling. If you get hit dust yourself off and change instances. I have gone in there with groups of non pvp people and we held our own.

Who said this is not a pvp event? This is on Ilim in the revamped pvp area in the new FFA pvp section. This is a pvp event with pve mechanics.

Sometimes you have to move outside your comfort zone to the rewards. It is what it is. Sometimes you just have to roll with it instead of fighting it.

I do pvp... I have a rank 96 EWH geared main. However, I also have alts that I don;t pvp with. I had zero issues doing the quests and NOT doing the pvp ones and not getting flagged.

The difference between doing the pvp dailies and not is it taking 3 days to cap rep with the dailies (on 1 char) and 4 days without them.
On the Internet, you can be anything you want. It is strange so many people choose to be stupid.
