I am not attempting to discount anyone's specific story, but I can say that in my running of the PVE quests, I more than several times had to fight right next to Imperial players (who may or may not have been flagged) while using all of my AoE's (Qyzen's too) and I was never flagged.

1. People have to go out of their way to find/enter the area on Tat. There's simple no attraction there. OwPvP areas need an incentive, missions or mechanic.

2. People are still leveling on the planet and not that many are interested in going out of their way to perhaps find one person to fight against when they could be earning a level instead....or simply duel someone.

3. 50's have no reason to be there and the loading times make it even less desirable.

I am on Ilum right now spamming AOE attacks all over pubs and not getting flagged at all. I even put AOE attacks on what they're killing and still no flag. I call BS on the AOE flagging. Watch your targets.

I have been not flagged for pvp saw a few players that appeared yellow to me, i can those players and be pvp right away, so essentially if that yellow guy walked into one of my AOE attacks i would be flagged.

Then again, just got to pay attention to what you are doing to avoid this anyway.

I too did this, even on a flagged person to no effect...with one exception a stealther tipped it off on me. I am seeing similar confirmations from others that it is a flagged stealth player or a targeted direct target. If this is the case, the stealthing to force flagging another player is an exploit.

To address the open pvp/PVE debate...the best thing for an mmo to do is have options. Anytime any of them has a PVE set and a pvp set of gear it sets off this same debate and the same responses "I was forced to do A so you should be forced to do B." and "You (pvpers/PVEers--select the one you don't like) need to learn how to play" --these comments always show up. This is not the fault of the player base though. So attacks at each other over what devs put in a game is useless. In this case going in an area for PVE should not require players to pvp if they don't want to...should be an option. In the same respect, pvpers should not have to complete any PVE content of they choose not to. With all that said, this energy should be focused at those responsible not those wanting their option not yours. Meanwhile those players who do focus their energy toward the devs play a huge part in the direction a game goes. That includes the trash if devs don't listen and the player base doesn't waste their time arguing with each other to keep their part of the game. This energy can easily be directed to work toward opening more options up to players rather than less options.

This guy literally has the record for the most complaints but yet keeps on playing. I love it.

Anyway....

I haven't seen ANY of what you have been talking about. In fact, I haven't had any issues getting the PvE stuff done and even in the PvP areas people aren't ganking. It's more like large brawls. I'm on Po5 and its not nearly as chaotic as you describe.

This is a great little event. Loving it so far.

I don't mind the way the Event was set up, however on my server there are some real "*****" guilds, I sat back and watched a bunch of Republic players (won't mention Guilds) huddle around the heroic quest just waiting for a few empire players attempt to do the quest. They are all flagged yellow and just wait til the fighting starts, they run into the group of bots and bam the players get flagged, then the whole group of them just gank the players trying to do the PVE portion of the quest. They did this over and over to anyone who showed up.

Too bad there are a few bad Guilds that go out of their way to cheat and grief other player thinking it's fun.

Oh the server Harbinger
