and again... remember that context matters. Correctness of any statement depends on context - 4k+ deathfields are normal for madness, especially 7/3/31 spec.

We can conclude from this thread that Sorcs are op and hit over 5k constantly and therefore should be nerfed. And also buff assault vanguard cause they are too squishy.

Your inability to read and comprehend is Warzone Mistake #16. Dude is even specifically pointing it out to you, and you still don't listen.

Glock,

What are your stats and mod/enhancement choices? Even as 7/3/31, I'm not regularly critting for more than 4k - it's more of a rare occurrence which I attributed to under-geared opponents. I'm going for max power, which sounds like the opposite of what you're doing

I never have any problem facing a pyro 1 on 1. I usually run like a little girl and Electrocute/Whirlwind/CreeppingTerror them until they finally choose another target! Use your bubble and unatural preservation as soon as you can. The dots will eventually get the better of him... maybe!

Haven't played for awhile, but optimized WH gear with my rakata power adrenal popped and one one of the PVP relics (power usually since with recklessness your DM /FIB is going to be critting anyway, and diminishing returns on Surge made the surge relic a little useless too) I was only getting maybe 4100-4500 or so on average.

Now without those adrenals I would not be surprised at all to see the average dip and 3900 or less becoming the average.

Of course with EWH and higher willpower stats as well as better augments I suppose the numbers could have gotten higher. Also keep in mind the Sorc/Sage buff reduces internal damage by I believe 10%, and DM/FIB are internal. So you would want someone without that buff in place. I do not believe armor otherwise can effect that rating, theoretically making it good against tanks, except in this game the tanks have crazy HP and the melee DPS generally has armor pen so it doesn't matter.

Obvious. Sniper has the longest range in the game while pyro is practically melee.
But the problem is sorc... you dir for pyro, sniper, smashers, etc... etc... Sorc is trash.

FACT - in a straight DPS race, starting from 30m range, the only class that can not do 20k damage to a sorc before a sorc does 20k damage to them is a concealment operative. Only because they are a stealth class with no other gap closers. If that op starts at melee range.from stealth a sorcerer literally has zero chance.

FACT - Sorcerers cannot DPS race or face tank anyone. Ever.

FACT - Sorcerers can win 1v1 fights against many classes. We don't try to face tank, we kite. We don't DPS race, we self heal. We don't pop defensive CD's, we run like a botch.

FACT - We don't CC as well as assassins, don't melee near as well, don't stealth as well, don't take hits as well, don't even force speed and kite as well, but at least we make up for it by not casting as well.

I think I would agree with each of those "facts."

edit: personally, I think most of that's how it should be. a sage dps should be range range range exclusively. just a priest or mage in wowcraft. if they toe to toe anyone, they should drop.

as for dps, iunno. perhaps they're so good in pve that any buff for pvp would break pve? the good dot specs put up big numbers. and I don't buy the "worthless" numbers arguments about dot specs. you're not dotting in a vacuum. those dots bring stealth out of stealth and keep constant pressure on heals. plasma cell is pretty damn important...as a dot. that's often my killing blow.
