a GOOD reason NOT to buy Cartel set armor.

Is no one getting the point on this but a few? Why does some armor bonuses transfer with mods and others do not?

Can someone, other than one person, explaiing its lazy devs (probably the truth), give a good reason why Bioware would do that?

Why NOT mention to others buying Cartel stuff that "by the way, not all end game bonuses will work for you, if you buy this Armor. If you want all the bonus available to all after lvl 50, use the in game stuff only...."

then, well, I wont gripe about it.... to me, thats a valid point I have made.

We get your point. Our point is, it doesn't matter. The Tionese through Rakata sets are old hat and not really worth going after these days. Especially since you can gear up in the best gear in the game so easily. You already spent the first 49 levels of the game without set bonuses anyway. Why are they suddenly so important to you? There are quite a few games where set bonuses on gear don't necessarily mean its the best gear you can equip.

Right? Set bonuses are....well bonuses, they aren't really needed so what one should look at mainly is the stats.

It depends on your class and spec. Some of the bonuses are quite good.

Yes but is it really necessary to have them? Like would you die without them? No of course not, they are helpful yes but you don't need them.

I guess it depends on how serious you are as a player.

Why buy Cartel stuff and have to suffer at any point in the game?
Yes, yes there should be limits on people until they progress a bit through the game. That's MMO and progression is important. And what you can do at the beginning of progression should be more limited than what you can do later on.

However, the idea that once you get better gear, after lvl 50, unless you are willing to wear the ugly junk, you have to spend a small fortune to remove all the mods, to put them in the gear you got from Cartel and to make matters worse, you lose the match set bonuses. The Gear for my Jugg would have made him look like a robot, why in the word would I want that? Looks good on Pierce though… but he won’t be getting any set bonus because the bonus is tied to the warrior class.

My point, a MATCHED set should be a MATCHED set after lvl 50…..So, the people buying from Cartel do not get shafted on bonuses once they get to Tionese, Rakata stuff. Why are those mods not able to transfer the bonus? My wife and I are both annoyed by this, she also has Cartel Armor and feels like she should get the bonus she earned by getting to lvl 50. The Tionese Armor for her, looks like it has wings on the shoulders… lol. Like me, she pulled all the mods and armor and transferred it.

Does this hurt the game for us? Not really, but if we had to wear that ugly stuff, would have hurt immersion to a point I may have stopped playing. I see NO REASON to buy anymore set armor from Cartel, since it has a limited lifespan in the game itself.

Anyway... Others should be fully aware of this before they spend their money....

Either wear the ungly immersion killing gear, or lose the bonuses is the real only option for people like us. I know others do not care, all they care bout is having the best stats for PvP... We want to feel like we are really in the galaxy and how we look MATTERS a great deal.
I have gladly dropped the bonus in order to wear armor that looks more... Star Warsy. Wings just didn't cut it for me.

However, to those who say the game armor doesn't look like Star Wars, I say this: chalk it up to fashion trends. This game is set something like 1,000 years BBY. Fashions come and go and shoulder pads were in during this time period. That just means my assassin was out of style and likely got made fun of a lot.

Because when they implemented the change that set bonus were carried by the armoring mod they didn't retrofit the old armor, so it's goign to be on everything going forward from campaign. It's a pretty short time you need to deal with it since you can purchase individual campaign armorings with black hole comms. So get the ones for your high visibility armor like your chest and helm and you will lookly mostly like what you want to look like.

Not really important any more. BH Gear is better than Columi/Rakata even taking the set bonuses into account. So someone in a mix of Columi and cartel market gear with BH mods is going to do well in Ops.
