The /de/ and /fr/ URL concept isn't working very well, especially because German and French players are speaking English as well and posting in both sections. If a French user adds a link to an English thread, the URL probably contains the /fr/ and messes everybodies settings. In addition, I think, that the website also uses cookies to identify languages, this leads to the actual situation.

Why would Facebook or other pages be affected? BW post said nothing about the problem being in your browser. The problem is that some search engines (Google, Facebook, etc) link the pages strangely, that they link to the German or French versions. As I said, the text of posts remains the same, it will not auto translate. As for your problem, try hitting the language buttons at the top of the page (next to Play now), or manually delete the /de/ or /fr/ from your URL bar (the thing where you put the address what page you want to visit, for computer illiterates) and press Enter. If nothing happens, then try to reload the page by pressing Ctrl+F5 (forced reload), which should help you

When this happens, clicking the language buttons on the page causes it to refresh but it does not actually change the language to the desired setting. The only thing that consistently fixes this problem for me is deleting cookies.
