They broke the law. Some lad from the other CE Vendor thread is seeking legal help right now :L

We're all disappointed in them for not living up to their promises of regular ce updates but they aren't breaking any laws. Waste of time going after legal action because nothing will come of it.

Read the thread - there may be legal standing, both civil and criminal. Regardless, it's a sad thing that someone had to go that far to try to force BioWare to live up to their word - something that, by the speed they're pumping items onto the CM, looks like it should have been simple.

This rings true by observation. All one has to do is look at WAR to see how much EA cares about "iconic properties" and "paying customers". It's all about short term revenue for that greedy bunch. Also, one can look to the "quality" of items pumped out to grease the larder of the CM store. Reskins and recoloring of existing in game items. As long as people are foolish enough to pay for "gambling boxes" with this "quality product line" inside do you really think that EA or EAware is going to really care about putting out a quality game? SWTOR is going to go on life support pretty soon as people get tired of the CM store and move on to "the next big thing". The Star Wars IP just isn't going to make it in the MMORPG space. No one is willing to do it justice. No one.

You're going to have to prove that "regular" means whatever time interval you say it does. It has been updated since it was first launched. I doubt anyone would win this one.

Whew! Given their track record of making good on their promises, it looks like the OP has nothing to worry about.....

"Regular" could be compared to how often the CM Store is updated. That is a tactic that could be used even though the CM Store happened after the CS store. It could then be argued that EA/EAware shirked their responsibility to honor their promise while attempting to make more money on potentially the same people they made promises too without fulfilling their previous promise.

That said, I agree with those that don't think that this would win in court.

I spent close to $150 for this box full of crap I've never even looked at, simply because of the claim of in-game item exclusives. In the time it's taken them to release next to nothing and not live up to my expectations, they've dropped the price for the CE to around $60. At least gimme $90 in cartel coins or something, and maybe I'll forget about this a while longer.
I find your lack of faith ... Impressive. Most impressive.

OK, let's play this out.

The lawsuit is deemed to have merit.

The suit then goes into court proceedings. At best it may be 6 months to a year before a hearing. In this time lawyers are still getting paid.

The actual case most likely will take another month or two of time, after which a decision is rendered. The loser looks to file an appeal. Again lawyers are getting paid.

If BW/EA loses and are assessed fines, there is more money gone. EA takes the next course of action: SWTOR is no longer seen as a viable entity for the company and shuts the game down.

End result. CE vendor is still not updated and no one has a game to play.

Well played, SWTOR players, well played.
