It's obvious it's going to be late because they haven't responded to any of these threads asking an eta or patch notes on the 1.7 patch... not even the typical cop out... "soon" It's not a world event it's a repeating area event. so I think it will probably go on the pts... I could be wrong. But since it's not on the pts it's going to be well over the 10 week mark.

If it was going live by 13/2/13 then it should have have been on the PTS by 1/2/13. There's no way to release it without it having more bugs than 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6 unless they test it.

Given the sucess of the Cartel Market it does seem a little strange that the development team seems to be almost non existent much as happened when they were going through their reshuffle when things were going bad.

So some communication would be a pleasant change of pace and let everyone know if 1.7 was going to hit its target date which supposed 3 weeks for the Holidays as they said a release every 6 weeks. I suspect that few outside of those still in school can hope for 3 weeks over Christmas any more and none in the service trades. So that has to be considered amply delay for the Christmas period.

But to be tested by who?

The rep system is an endgame thing, for which there'd be very little testers on the PTS to participate in. And the Ilum event is an endgame thing with a certain PvP focus for which there'd probably be even less testers interested in.

If BioWare has found that in previous tests only a handful of players met those requirements, they're better of testing internally and bypassing the PTS.

I think we can sa ythat given the original statement was a new update every 6 weeks and after 2 updates they sai we still plan an update every 6-8 weeks, and then this one is coming upto 9 weeks (I know christmas holidays) and its not even on PTS they will just keep moving the goal posts.

You do realize that the majority of the world drives on the right side of the road right? Even many countries which write dd-mm-yyyy.

And as for miles being the right way? I personally couldn't disagree more. There's just too many values attached to it, and the only way to accurately describe the difference amongst all of them is by using a standardized method of measurement, the metric system.

Just a few of the "miles" out there are the statute mile, the nautical mile, the US survey mile, the norwegian-swedish mile, the metric mile, etc.

What makes you, personally, think that this is too long? They said 6-8 weeks on content updates, give them 2 weeks for holidays, and that give this patch 10 weeks since 1.6.

Cool your heels, they have a great content update system, a lot faster than most MMO's out there. It was the holiday season, even besides the 2 week break, members of the team may have taken other holiday time, so they would have been shorthanded.

Bioware has over-promised and under-delivered on everything since this game launched. Why people believe a single word from them is beyond me.

You can count on Bioware being late and introducing new bugs that will last indefinitely with every patch.

Oh please. Even with their 2 week holiday Bioware have had 6 weeks to develop and push 1.7 to the live servers, yet it isn't even on the PTS. If a company tells me they're going to release updates every 6 weeks and then doesn't, I'm not going to be happy.
Maybe I would've been pacified with some communication. The least they could do is tell me what's going on, surely? But no, instead Bioware gives us a cure little press release that details how we can grind dailies for hours to get some titles and gear, and doesn't even include the traditional Soon™ expectation. Wowee.

Sadly, this is how I feel as well. I lower all of my expectations and hold all anticipation until it's live. Bioware is great at building hype, but their track record on delivering that hype is abysmal.
