Don't remember him closing a door with the force .... He opened one iirc - during the fight with Jango Fett? - but that was probably needed as he had to get back into the action quicker.

As for the map, that bothered me too - I can only assume its because there were younglings present and it was important to look cooler.

He closes his little compartment when he stows away on Padme's ship using the force. We might be able to chalk that up to him being tired and upset, though, knowing he has to go and probably kill Anakin.

I always assumed that was because he couldnt close it properly from the inside. (no buttons/sensors etc..)

Because it's not necessary, MMOs, like all games have limits, even Kotor, a singleplayer RPG had no jedi super jump

Ah, sure, good point! I hadn't thought of that!

Then I guess the only "convenience" instance I can think of is the previously mentioned one where he takes the map from the map projector in AOTC.

They could do it in a way that is balanced. You could give bounty hunters usable jetpacks and maybe operatives a grappling gun.

But the game isn't really designed for it and the maps are actually quite small compared to a lot of MMOs. They also didn't really pick the right engine for it. If SWTOR was running on a modern engine, like Planetside 2's maybe (with massive seamless terrain and proper physics). Then it might be an option.

Also, with jumps, jetpacks, grapple guns, or flying mounts (that people are often clamoring for) you would have to redesign a lot of the Datacrons. No challenge when you can just jump to it!

ummmmmmmmm? i was just talking about jumping up onto a rock or something that is 10 ft high........grossly over matched?
we already have force leap and i don't think troopers have that ability, are they over matched?
give troopers grappling hooks and bounty hunters jet packs and ect...

but come on already, im standing in front of a rock that's just a little higher than me and me a powerful jedi can't even jump on top of it....bloody stupid

PvP maps become a lot more dangerous for non-Force users when Jedi and Sith can be on top the of the buildings throwing rocks/lightning down at them, and you can't up there to them because of pathing problems (Powertech) or there's a building in the way (Operative).
