For 1200CC they should be bind to legacy. In other games you can unlock account wide costume sets for cheaper.
I like a lot of the legacy stuff, but even if they are bound to Legacy, 1200 for one set is kind of high. Being a set level also lowers the attractiveness. I will likely be too low, or over level for the item, therefore paying for mods I don't want.

I say YES, it should be BoL, its a shame i did not found this thread before, and ended up i creating one of my own a few months back:
http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=578572

I been reading so far up to page 5, and i have to say at least people in here are much more mature and civilised than on my Thread, plus they also seem more fun of the idea.

PS: yes am necro-reviving this :P

If they were BoL I would consider buying them. As is, they are too expensive to be tied to one character.

Bound to Legacy for subscriptions only..... This way, they also help encourage subs from the F2P people, but gets us subs into buying Cartel goods more and not be restricted to a single charachter to use it... This could be a win win for EA and the consumer.

However, they could also make some of the items empire/republic only.... some of the armor should be different looking for their faction. I dont want to see Jedi running around looking like a Sith Lord, this could hurt game immersion some.

I could get behind this, if they were not to make it BoL for everyone.

They do not use it with the Cartel Market stuff because they want more money out of people. Not saying that it is working that way for them, but its a cash grab, and the legacy-wide stuff means less opportunity to milk the current player base. It's not about earning money anymore, its about squeezing as much as you can out of your customer. If people continue to pay it, they'll continue to do it.

As far as them receiving more feedback, they could care less. The guy at BW that's behind all this did stuff like this in previous games before destroying them, then moving on to another game to destroy and now he's on TOR. But do not worry, EA/BW will see it at some point, probably when it is too late, and he'll be fired. Then, probably no more than a couple months later he'll be hired as a live services director (where there will be more terrible bug fixing, patching, and customer service). Then when that game is failing, the powers that be will fail to recognize him as part of the problem, they'll fire their executive producer and make him the new executive producer.

How do I know all this? DAoC, WAR, and TOR did it.

No, it reduces the 'perceived' value of the items.

However I could see a situation where an option for 'send to all legacy characters' would be available for a higher price.

Besides its all fluff...

Thats a good and fair idea..... So, the $18 speeder would be maybe, $25 for it to be bound to legacy..... I wold still buy it.

And this is why forum polls will accomplish nothing. As long as there are people willing to pay the kind of money we once reserved for ENTIRE game expansions on just ONE virtual item.... forget about it.

Remember when people got upset over spending $2.50 on Oblivion Horse Armor? And that wasn't limited to a single character (well... horse) either! Ah... the good old days!
