I think there needs to be a better way of obtaining all the patterns for the various modifications even the earrings and implants. For instance if you are raiding at say HM denova, each boss drops a token you can use to buy a box to obtain mod patterns you could even make it stat specific so you could choose the patterns you want to gain. For instance you get a token and you can buy a box of all the 26 strength mods. And/or make it so you can buy the boxes with something like Black Hole coms instead of the horrible hit/miss system that is in place now. I don't think having more ready access to the patterns is going to hurt anyone at this point as the mats are where the money is at. People craft for free and hope for a crit to make their money. It would just make it alot simpler for us to TRUELY customize our gear to the stats we want.

/shrug. sure i wish they were easier to get, but then again, it's nice to see SOMETHING that's hard to get.

You are aware that if they're easier to get, the prices also drop down to close to crafting costs.

which will probably result that you'll be posting here again with "Why is this and this crafting skill not worth the time putting into it since it's not making any money!"

Usually in a player made market there are 2 ways that something's worth something:

#1 if it's rare
#2 if people need it on a high-frequency basis.

#1 counts for epic high level mods/enhancements/etc
#2 the only thing that people need over and over again on a high-frequency basis are stims, so biochem is for that.

So if you'd take the rarity out of the high level mods/enhancements you will see a MASSIVE drop in prices.

I haven't made money on the crafting professions since near launch. On my server you see tons of people crafting for free with your mats it would just be nice to be able to craft them myself instead of having to rely on other people to craft it for me. Or having to wait for the odd person to be broadcasting exactly the piece I need. The hard part right now is obtaining the rare mat for making them.

not making money with crafting?
I got a guildy that makes a steady 3-5 million credits a day by crafting some and selling it on the GTN.
