My friend had some issues with this game after upgrading his Motherboard and Ram. He reinstalled W7 in a new partition and after doing the required updates, when he logs into the launcher after inputing his secret question, the Play button turns on but when he clicks it nothing happens, it is even highlighted when the cursor is over it, but the Exit button works as intended.

is there any option, any file he has to change to make the launcher works? The old partition is a 32-bit W7,. the new one is a 64-bit W7.

Greetings Saiferstrike,

Please ask your friend to go to www.swtor.com/download, download the launcher setup file and run the setup over the current installation. After this please ask them to log in to the launcher and leave it for 15 minutes, it is possible that there is a patching process on going, but it is not properly displayed on the launcher.

Please come back to us if the issue remains.

Thank you!

Thanks, we solved the problem (he was missing one update) but now we have the same one that made him think re-installing Windows would solve it: Theres a" AMD Driver has Stopped working and has recovered "issue that happens more often when he is in full screen. The hardware changes he made are a new Motherboard and new RAMs.

Greetings Saiferstrike,

Please have your friend do a clean install of the graphic card drivers drivers? To do this please download the latest drivers, uninstall the current ones and the run the installation for the latest drivers.

Please come back to me with the DxDiag for your friends computer if the issue remains.

I hope this helps!

Greetings Saiferstrike,

From the DxDiag, the latest drivers have not been installed. Please have your friend go to AMD site, download the latest driver, then uninstall the current drivers and then run the installation for the latest driver. Please make sure that they restart their computer after this is completed.

Please come back to us if the issue remains.

Thank you!

(Sorry about the spoiler thing, dont know how to do it) So we did every step you said and it still happening, the drivers even crash without the game being running, this time the game crashed ( the game doesnt crash everytime the drivers crash, but we have to wait a few mins while the drivers come back to life and the game resumes) Any other possible solution?

Do the same as above remove the drivers and revert to the last version, ie if your now trying to run 13.1 try 12.10 instead.

Also make sure the below is installed and all windows updates are done

AMD Catalyst Control Center requires Microsoft .NET4 Framework. Windows Vista and Windows 7 users may need to install the Microsoft .NET4 Framework as a prerequisite to use Catalyst Control Center.
