It is indeed a memory leak causing the issue. On a 32 bit system, no app can allocate more than 2GB of memory for use. A memory leak is when an app is using memory but not giving back when done, so it takes more. Because this is in direct violation to the laws of the kernel, the game is forced to crash. OS > Application any day! This is why we have moments when we *think* we're about to crash but don't, and also when we actually crash, but don't expect it. The difference on a 64 bit system is that its taking a lot more memory, and not giving it back. Taking into consideration what the OS requires to live, what the machine reserves for use, and playing this game for a solid 2 or 3 hours...I'd venture to say a good 32GB of memory may be needed. Also, the latest nVidia drivers (2013) aren't compatible with the game. You will get an error message. Hopefully a fix is incoming with this expansion...I've never seen a game where I pay a sub get an expansion BEFORE attending to its bugs that admits it hasn't found a fix for yet. Strange.

Name of server. Jedi Convenant
Name of character(s) affected. All
Frequency of crashing – how many crashes, how often? Once today, but previously 2 weeks ago.
Any potentially helpful information about crash triggers, what you are doing before a crash, etc. Was in the middle of a space mission and can't log, but into the system.

Name of server: Tomb of freedon nadd
Name of character(s) affected. All characters
Frequency of crashing – how many crashes, how often? Between 1-3 times per hour depending on how often i relog and alt for crafting.

It's not often i crash during operations or war zones. If i relog alts a lot, i crash. When i have played to long, i crash. If I'm to fast to open my inventory i crash. So many different situations. Never had any problem regarding crashing. Not before you launched patch 1.4. I crash so much I'm getting bored. I know I'm gonna crash. Atleast once every hour.

Name of server: The Harbinger
Name of character(s) affected. FBG and Xnuked
Frequency of crashing – how many crashes, how often?: 3 Crashes today, 2 yesterday before I quit playing. However my reliability viewer says about 4-5 per playing session. (which are becoming fewer)
Any potentially helpful information about crash triggers, what you are doing before a crash, etc.: Most noticeable in high population areas, like Fleet. The sound goes first, then it freezes, then crashes straight to desktop.(NO Error Messages at all)
I can restart the game and log on without any issues or error messages

Indeed.
At this point, I'm really just wondering if I shouldn't just ...unsub, uninstall the game, and move on with my life.
Ya know, like go play LOTRO or something.
I am running Windows XP 32 bit, 3GB ram, Nvidia 9400GT 1GB (with latest driver 310.90.
This game NEVER crashed before patch 1.4, and I cannot just simply run out and buy a better "gaming rig". It now crashes anytime the leak goes over 2.0 GB. It may happen at 2.3 or it may at 2.8.

So what do you think? Should I just move on from this game? (which really sucks for me cause I hate LotRO, or any other Dark Age Fantasy games, and am a SWTOR fan).
It dosent seem to me they will ever fix it.

From a customer service standpoint, in which this thread is, they OWE us for paying a fee and not getting our money's worth. The fact remains that this is an issue with THEIR software. However, it is our right to unsub at ANY time. I'm likely going to finish my current sub and leave. Afterwords, I'll likely create an issue with the BBB. It is made clear that their goal is not customer satisfaction, its money. Their F2P model is atrocious, which made me sub. But they're still releasing an expansion. Which in all likelihood will increase our crashes. The client is weak that the latest nVidia drivers make the game think that there's a problem. I'm using a 9800GT with 4GB memory on Win7 platform. Champions Online has a beautiful F2P model. The sub just makes it better. Rift is downright amazing! The animation alone is awesome! Then there's always GW2, Terra, DCUO, LoTR...Let's just say BioWare will be in trouble when we all go to another game. (DCUO has stepped up..ALOT. I LOVED IT!)
