The community is changing for the worse :(

The community is changing for the better, it appears to be more friendlier then say 4 months ago, I for one have noticed an improvement.

In game for me, is normally without issue, I know if someone is near me with an objective I see if they need it, then grab it if it is obvious they do not. few bad eggs always make it appear worse for the rest of us.

It is up to each of us to continue to ensure it continues to improve, maybe most of the whingers and ragers have left, notice i said most, but i do not see that as a bad thing.

We can have complaints and express them without behaving or speaking like a 5 year old on a tantrum the same goes for in-game. It starts with each of us in our behavior.

Sadly gotta agree

Black Hole has been like that since I could remember

It use to drive me batty but now I just make sure I get objective first and then fight

Sad it came to that but its hardly something new.
In regards to lessening F2P and Preferred restrictions
In GAMING, as in LIFE,
You get what you pay for
No game restriction is so dire that $15.00/month will not eliminate it

This. TBH, a couple times I've followed people around and done it to them after they ran in did it to me first, just out of frustration. Easiest way is to just let companion fight and grab up or destroy whetever clicky boxes are in there before fighting the mobs, otherwise some (insert your choice of pronoun here, language filter kills all my choices) is going to come get it and leave while you're fight.

People suck, tbh.

Saw a noob 50 get kicked at about 80% of the way through KP for wiping the group in a PUG. He even said he was new at the beginning and asked if we could watch the cinematics. We all agreed except for some grumbling from two players. Turns out when we wiped, that was the excuse they needed and kicked him.

Insulted him personally and his character.

You never know who's on the other end. Could be a young kid who had a bad day at school etc and this game is an escape.

I felt really bad and told the two a-holes that wasn't cool...they threatened to kick me too.

Ignored the both of them.

Noticing a negative trend lately from what seemed to be an upswing in the previous 4 months.

All you can do is discourage that kind of behavior. I'm not big on reporting people unless it's really bad but ignore and report seems to be the only way to do that. That and try to be nice to the noobs and F2P's.

That's just flat out unacceptable. Period. If someone new is trying to play, you cut them some slack.

A few days ago I GF'd into a EV SM. On the puzzle, we kept wiping because one of guys who said he was new wasn't doing so hot a job at tanking the adds (when all the acklays show up to eat your face). We ended up getting past it, but not without alot of mouthing off by some guy about n00bs.

Que the floor drop, and Mr. Expert is so busy STILL trashtalking the guy he doesn't move and drops to the ground dead as the rings fall. God, I lol'd so hard.

People don't "own" or "deserve" something just cuz they're standing near it. That's a box of weaponry or a chest just lying in the open for anyone to get, not just for you, your name isn't on it.

.
Click first and then fight does not work all that well for newer 50s in weaker gear. One way around the problem is to party with another player: one fights and one clicks and then fights. My wife and I duo the content and almost never miss an objective athough our characters are stong enough to do it alone.

No one owns or deserves anything. On the other hand, if I see someone fighting trough a group of mobs to get at an objective, I will leave it to him/her = consideration and not being a jerk.

My wife and I have been playing from day one and do not think that there has been much or any change in the community as a whole.

Karmatic Justice is a Bish. I've never seen it the other way around. Kicking someone for being a jerk to the noob...I might start a trend and do it. Maybe these a-holes will learn their lesson. Stop crying about having to spend the extra 5-10 holding someone's hand and just play.

I have played a lot of MMO's and this one was the first since City of Heroes release that I felt I could ask a question about mechanics or objectives in chat and not receive loads of hate, ridicule, or blatant immaturity as a response. Since Free 2 Play went active, this experience has gone way down.

It could be something wrong with my perception or even a confirmation bias, but I doubt it. It seems as though F2P really has opened things up to more negativity/immaturity in game. People want to gripe or post critiques on the forums, fine...but when you're in game there was always a sense of mutual respect prior to F2P...seems that's gone now.

The problem lies in where the attacks get personal.

Seen quite a bit more of that lately....maybe it's just a coinkydink?
