Kephess the Undying - bashing Kephess
Terror from Beyond - bashing tentacles, bashing spheres, bashing the primary body

Out of all those, Kephess truly is the only thing which is singly getting bashed. The rest.... fell exactly in my line of expectation when they mentioned you wouldnt be bashing a single boss.

I'm not sure what you're expectations were, however, it's not been BioWare which placed those expectations there. It's simply a matter of you having had a vastly different interpretation of what was being stated.

And yes, all of that is different than numerous other games. However, there are also numerous similar titles. People just really ought to keep themselves from getting overhyped during MMO development stages. MMO's have been around for well over a decade, yet during every MMO development stage it feels as if many people on the pre-launch communities are completely new to the genre.

Just currently take a look to any random ESO community to start seeing the same fiasco happen all over again.
I dont really want to get into this debate as I suspect those trying will NEVER convince anyone refuting of anything.
I mean the quote of leadership statement about as clear as day it gets and hes accused of taking someones quote to literally?
really?
really?
really?
Dang you anyways, dont you know your suppose to read the hidden message inside the fortune cookie!
up means down
left means right!
Come on!!!!
Ok sorry had to be said

But real reason to post, you realize when you look at the fights that generically as you did, pretty much any raid/ops encounter from any game matchs up

DAoC..... Princess in Darkness Falls, you fight her and 20-30 adds that come in waves at same time
EQ2.... Did numberous Raids were the mechanics had you fighting far more then one boss at a time
Heck DDO Dragon has you jumping through a ton of hoops and collapsing paths and multiple dragon mechanics.

In fact, im hard pressed to think of any MMORPG (that had Ops/Raids) where you just fight a single mob and nothing else with no special mechanics to contend with.

Im sure there are a few but upon closer inspection im sure you can find others in the same title that were not just fight the mob.

Listen I like TORs Ops for most part. I am in 3 hard mode ops each week (Thursday, Friday, Monday).

But as Yoda would say
Recraft the mold, they did not.
In regards to lessening F2P and Preferred restrictions
In GAMING, as in LIFE,
You get what you pay for
No game restriction is so dire that $15.00/month will not eliminate it

Hating this game because the fans hyped it up so much is kind of.....stupid.
Yes.Same as GW2.Just because some fans say something doesn't make it official.Anyhow some people would whine if you gave them a million dollars. They would cry because you didn't give them 2 million. They have this thing called Ignore.Works like a charm.

^QFE^ The suits at LA have been salivating over WoW's subscription numbers for almost a decade.

They NGE'd Star Wars Galaxies to try and pull subs from WoW, and they failed.

This game was created to be a direct competitor to WoW, as you can see SWTOR is almost a direct 1:1 copy of WoW. Less than a year it goes F2P, and the "expansion" that was supposed to be free, now isn't free. Another failure.

MAYBE... Disney will realize that creativity and originality is a more lucrative proposition than copying another MMO and hoping for success...

Also, for the many of you who have been unwilling to accept that SWTOR is a circa-2008 WoW clone:

Quote:
The CEO commented that “lots of products” have tried to emulate World of Warcraft’s “faux-British dark fantasy” feel without success, but The Old Republic repackages dark fantasy in a familiar sci-fi skin.

“We think that’s just enough innovation,” he explained, suggesting players swap swords for lightsabers and steeds for spaceships. “Lots of people want to live out that Star Wars universe,” he added.
Not only is it a WoW clone, it's intentionally a WoW clone. This is central to many players' disappointment. Althought it was unrealistic to hope for a SWG2 (which admittedly many people did), what we didn't want was Space WoW.

Now they are at the point where they've made a solid, unspectacular but perfectly respectable traditional MMO. But without the Star Wars license, this game would fold in a month. If it were just Space Fight: The Old Government, nobody would play it.

Who cares if it's a clone of another game? Why does it NEED to be totally original?
In fact, most people on these forums were very vocal about the fact that this game didn't have stuff that wow has.
They want a clone, but then complain when they get one.

From a pro wrestling perspective, it is a good thing when people cheer you and people jeer you; it means they care. The problem is all those people who cancel their sub and do not even care for the game that is the real problem. Why did they leave? The people complaining in the forums are still active players? Since free to play the servers are looking much better with each month. Even seen a few that were all very heavy at one point. I doubt all the complainers are actually quitting.
and the Force beat generic Swords and Magic any day. 8/26/14 That was my old signature but after RotHC, I went back to superheroes and swords and magic. Now waiting on Dragon Age and a SWTOR story expac for my Bioware fix 7/30/15 Returned for KotFE. Finally, a story expac.

Like, I was talking to my friends and I told them I picked up SWTOR and they just laughed at me. To be honest I have had more fun in this game than 3 years of WOW. So what do you guys think?

Why do people hate this game so much?
It is very simple really.

Angry people wants their voice heard and the persons who they bought the product or service from to know they are unhappy.

Happy people is quietly enjoying their stuff. No point in complaining when everything is perfect.

Why do people think EA/BW were making a swg2? Why are people still talking about SWG in 2013? Are the people behind SWG still together making MMOs? Ifso then have hope for SWG2, but stop expecting it from BW, it is not going to happen.

First Thundergulch, I assume you're taking this chance to not admit you were wrong? Color me surprised.

Second, nobody said it had to be original. But this is a thread about why people are disappointed with SWTOR. Being a WoW reskin is one reason why some people are disappointed.

As to features in WoW but not SWTOR, if you're going to clone a game, at least do it right. The basic model and mechanics of the game are set now (unless EA pulls an NGE), so we've got to make the most of what there is. That means adding in proven features from SWTOR's models.
