This makes most sense
I agree with this. And as noted elsewhere, the initial Transfer's would be eaiser to stomach if BW made them free. Not forever, just until everyone settles after the Merge.

We all want a solution that suits us best; we are all selfish in that regard and so we should be since it's a service we all pay for. I think that merging with MD with Dalborra would be sufficient. New players would be more likely to role on that server because most usually go for the server with the highest pop.
Geez you've got a pessimistic view of people that play on a PVP server. No wonder you RP because you clearly can't fathom reality.

Speaking as someone on MDN and who would lose out a tiny pointless part of the game. I would not care. As long as we can recruit players for operations and ranked pvp, I am fine with it.

A good point that BW/EA should take into account

Latency breaks this game for both PVP and PVE. Talking as someone that has seen first hand 2 guild members go from an operations liability (constant wipes) to top DPS and full clear (after changing ISP). Its a game breaker.

Guilds making progression in ops need low latency and anyone wanting competitive PVP should want everyone to be able to play.

my vote is above.

I know that and it's entirely irrelevant to me. Your assumptions about my position are incorrect; your post simply reflects your own opinions about those who play on RP servers. I don't have any particular view of people who play on a PVP server, which is why I have not expressed an opinion on people who play on a PVP server. I do believe that a server merge primarily benefits those who are on MDN as it has the lowest population and that it hosts a playstyle that is best served by a large population. I don't believe that a server merge necessarily benefits those who play on GD as that playstyle is served better by a smaller and more cohesive community. I thought I had made that clear in my previous post. Perhaps I should have spaced it out for you.

As seems to be the view of the vast majority, I think a merge of the three servers into one Oceanic PVE sever is the very much prefered option. I know we do very little world PVP on MDN, so no loss here, and as stated you can flag yourself for pvp. RP'ers of course can have a RP chat channel (sorry, not really sure what other issuses an RP'er might have). Of course, as suggested by many others, allow a period for tansfers after the server merge for those who are truly unhappy.

I would be very very reluctant to give up the low latency of an APAC server without exhausting other options first.

Allow a period of time for players to transfer freely from MDN & GD to Dalborra or another destination server outside the region.
Allow players from outside the region to transfer between their origin servers and Dalborra.

Let those players have the option to switch between their chosen destination servers and Dalborra freely until the end of the period.

At the end of the period, merge any leftover MDN/GD characters into Dalborra.

Hey chippy, still request to put up a summary and the 2 options in the OP.

Also might be good to have a poll...

- option 1
-option 2
- other( if majority select other then we go back to taking suggestions)

Not sure how much you are leaving up to bioware but to get a clearer view at this moment a poll would be a step up from reading the same suggestions over and over and not knowing exactly where we stand
Mum: you need to get a life.
Me: but I've already got 10!

Okay, I've come in late, and don't really know what's going on - but I'm playing on an oceanic server. What's the problems plaguing the Oceanic servers? Just in general?

Personally, I had terrible latency issues through my router, HOWEVER, I then port-forwarded, and my latency has been 30ms max ever since, which is wonderful.

I don't think people should have to port forward to solve their problems though.
