I'm gonna cry if this is overly tied to grinding dailies.

In the light of wow basically dropping daily grind in 5.2 this is just one more thing that makes it feel like BW is about 5 years late to the party.

The tragedy of TOR is they will say it flopped cos it was too ambitious with story when in reality that's what's keeping it afloat and the problem is devs don't have enough marbles to innovate anywhere else but copy the done to death concepts of other mmos that are ironically in the process of binning those same concepts.

I love a good rep grind. Seriously. It gives us stuff to do at max level.

So far this game has sadly lacked a variety of things to do at max level. We've had a choice of group PvE or Warzones. I don't actually like either of those options and I've not been happy about the way that 'expanding endgame' so far, has meant adding more of the same kind of thing.

This is something completely new and I am delighted.

I know some people complain about the grind, but then some people have only themselves to blame. I've known players who decide they are going to grind one rep until they max it out. They log on every day, do the same few dailies every day, over and over and over ... and then complain that they are bored.

Me? I'm the type of player who loves dailies and rep grind (yes, we do exist) so I am one very happy bunny right now.

Umm, is it just me, or does it look like you can buy the titles with cartel coins?

Exactly the kind of convenience item that should be in the Store.

LOTRO has something similar in that there is a purchasable method to speed up reputation gain.

I would expect that, pay to shorten a grind is pretty standard. Pretty lame though as they will increase the rep needed to make paying more attractive. I realize this is the MMO business these days, but it sucks.

I think it is a good addition, just another facet of a great game that is moving from its infancy into adolescence and doing well for itself.....yes yes like most adolescent people it has a few spots and a bit of an attitude at times but it is getting there lol

I only hope it isn't going to turn into a copy-paste faction system of World of Warcraft or Rift. I left the former game mainly because of the horrific rep grind through daily quests that Blizzard likes to add in every patch these days. And now it looks like Bioware is probably going the same direction. Why, oh why?!

If it is not tied to doing daily quests, then it's probably going to be quite a wonderful horizontal progression system. But what are the chances they are going the route involving much higher development cost?..

Grinding rep isn't "content", it's just a grind.

WoW went mad with reputation grinds in BC, I didn't like it then and I don't like it now (it was one of the reason I quit WoW and never went back).

AA grinds aren't so bad because there is some achievement, reputation grind are just grind X for Y and you'll get a piece of armour which will be outdated in a few months.
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

Er...... no, we already have the Social Grind (just a basic PvE grind) and the Valour Grind (a basic PvP grind).

It's not even slightly new, it's just Burning Crusade stuff.

At least older reputation grinds had a proper purpose, like getting your Human monk so it wasn't KOS to NPC guards in Cabalis and you could use trainers and merchants there (Everquest 1) etc.
