1.7: Thoughts on the Reputation System

I thought it was just me that seen that little icon.
Hey, why grind when you can buy?

Another time sink, likely tied in with dailies so that there is a greater reward included. Comms, creds and a reputation bar. Hopefully it's not just titles you can earn, but some unique appearance gear.

I'd imagine there could be specific gear and items that are only purchasable when reaching a certain rank with a faction.

reputation or legacy grinds on top of having to pay insane prices for the items is the only thing that I see as a problem here. We work our butts off to get Legacy levels to release the access to something only to be slapped in the face with a HUGE bill to pay for it. I do not even remotely see where the cost is in line with what we should pay for something .. at least on most things. This is what I fear will happen with the reputation grinds as well. We will work our butts off only to get to the rank of rep needed and find out we need 1mil credits to buy a single item or something crazy like that.
From a F2P perspective. They may have to pay to gain access to the faction to get rep with them or to buy the items themselves but they should have to grind the rep out like the rest of us. There should be no short cut for earning the rep. NO one, not subs or F2P should be able to BUY rep. That crap isn't cool at all.

If you look at the screen showing the Reputation stuff it has a cartel market button on it.

Rep grinds are boring. I'll check out what's in the system but probably ignore it.

Regardless, this is a good feature to add, because it will give grinders more content.

Has there been any word from Ea as to whether that cartel market icon is an indication that you can buy rep, or if it's there so F2P and preferred can buy the unlocks to be able to do the rep grinds?

Does it actually add content or does it just count the quests you generally do anyways when going through the area?

I doubt it, I am thinking we will all have to start again. Oh well, more incentive to earn a retarded amount of creds. Since it is legacy based, switching alts and doing all the quests will likely make this a short distraction, depending on the number of factions.
