Following your logic, should they add the possibility to gain 10000 more affection points with companions for more grind, we have to end up being happy about this new "content". /facepalm

I am cautiously optimistic about this. If it is 75% of what I'm hoping it will be, it will still be really great.

Bioware, please take steps to ensure faction balance and population control on the new Ilum so the experience is enjoyable. You can do it!!
A classic sig that should not be lost:

Reputation is more intuitive than daily commendations grind. They're both grinds, but I prefer reputation because there is more possibility with story here.

As I mentioned in my previous post in this thread, they can attach story and cutscenes into it at either every interval of the reputation, or at the highest reputation, where the faction thanks you for your hard work, and rewards you with the ultimate gree lightsaber to the black bisector.

Reputation is also a metric that allows you to gauge how well you are doing. 400 daily commendations for the dread guard relic isn't that intuitive. In fact, commendations feels more like a grind.

A grind feels like a grind because it has no meaning. If SW:TOR can somehow make reputations matter by attaching lore, story, change to the world due to your efforts, etc, a grind will seem less like a grind.

I hope you are right. After all, reputation grind is a much better character progression path, since it's horizontal and doesn't involve increasing level cap or adding gear with higher amount of stats (hello World of Warcraft with 300-500k health points and critical hits for over a million damage in PvE).

I agree, if you want to PVP, roll a character on a PVP server. During the last event, PVP in the Outlaws Den really amounted to a bunch of IMPs Grieving Rep players trying to do their quest. Usually in mass, 15 players vs 2. That was fair. I am sure they felt big of them self's.

Made me want to get on my Sith Assassin and grief them if I could, but I refused to stoop to their low level.

Lets face it, open area PVP does not work. There is never any balance, what is the accomplishment in something like this. Nothing. Reminds me of LVL 50's running around the LVL 1 to 10 first planet, challenging people to a dual. WHY?

If I'm not mistaken I can see a Cartel Market unlock button on the reputation screenshot just above the 50% boost.

By the way, does anyone have a guess what the deal is with "Weekly Reputation Remaining: 6960" in the screenshot? Makes it sound like a resource or currency or something.

Hm... That's true. However, I never felt like I was grinding daily commendations, especially because they come along steadily while I grind Black Hole marks. The latter, however is indeed a somewhat tedious grind (yet it is still better than grinding in many games, as it doesn't take that much time to get an upgrade). And it is 300 comms for a dread guard relic. But no matter. As long they can make horizontal character progression entertaining without much grinding (the fact that reputation is legacy wide is already quite a relief, to be honest), I'll gladly continue paying and playing.

Maybe you can only gain so much rep within any given week?
