The Great British Empire was the modern era version of the Sith Empire in my opinion! They had it all: shrewd diplomats and manipulators, tactical and somewhat ruthless generals, a massive fleet and obviously an imperialistic nature. Not trying to glorify it or anything!

I think actually a few of these 'candidates' would be better off as "Mandalore" leader of the Mandalorians then as either jedi or sith.
