Id be totally okay with them adding the gear they currently have on their IN DIFFERENT COLORS if we could get a version or two of it.
Of course, they'd make the gear we could get easily puke green and the one in the shop would be black/red or silver/blue and look great...

Why, on God's green earth, is something as ICONIC as the Revan armor set something you get from loot bags??

( Enter, the all illusive and never mentioned Legendary items)

I am so sad that the cool new gear, weapons, and items available in the cartel market are never going to be items you had to actually go out and earn. A quest line to get the Helm of Revan? Awesome. Long chains to have a chance at getting pieces to a full set of cool new armor or lightsaber crystals that took effort (like the magenta) would have been and meant more to the community than bioware turning into a cash hound.

I guess i hoped for better.

The "immerse yourself in the star wars universe" idea has been put out to pasture. Buy your new toys, rookies.

A fellow gameplayer that I met on the forums just started a thread discussing how people consistently ninja loot him in the flashpoints he runs. He pointed out that he just finished the black talon FP and his jugg lost on a need roll against a sith inquisitor for a STR/END lightsaber.

Keeping that in mind, I think it's just safer for him and everyone else if they just buy the items they want off the market, and run the missions in the game just for fun to run them.

What say you?

Play with friends / good people who won't ninja your loot, and will even help you kill stuff until you get the drop you want.

Run content for $$$ and buy it off the GTN. You can even role play it that the item you desire is being sold by a shady black market merchant and you are taking on odd jobs to get the credits necessary.

Not every relic of lore is waiting to be unearthed. Some lie in dust on the bargaining tables of the galaxies most nefarious of vendors.

The cartel market only is an issue if you actually let it be.

Personally - I think it's better that the CM sell appearance items with no/average stats, rather than exclusive/crazy stat items.

Given that the game is F2P - they HAVE to make $$ somehow. Appearance items are by FAR the lesser of two evils here. Granted - in a perfect world this game wouldn't be F2P, and all items would be a grind or week long odyssey to obtain or even get a chance at. But it isn't.

Hopefully there will come a time where the F2P is just a teaser, the 'trial'. Real content, real items, come from subbing because that's the only way you're going to get them unless you spend an obscene amount of money doing so.

Not that I dislike the F2P or people who do - just that I'd then take the start of such content as a sign of a healthy game.

the only gear I see from Market is a lvl 31ish set, a lvl 43 chest, and unique color crystals.

what cash shop do you go to that has Tionese/Columni/Rakata/Campaign/Dread Guard gear? cause I wanna go hit that one up and throw my now non-existent cash at it (stupid car)
The McSinR Legacy of Harbinger. Just a burned out raider turned casual, don't mind me.

I'd be all for buying this gear from the market. Great idea OP!

CAUTION: DO NOT LOAD SWTOR UNLESS YOU HAVE AFTER-MARKET COOLING INSTALLED!!

It only seems as though they're only adding gear via the cartel market now because we haven't seen any new endgame content since the market went live. Eventually they'll release a new tier of gear for both PVP and PVE with new looks. In the mean time, they'll continue to put armor they know people will pay cash for on the market.

They just released the elite war hero tier for pvp, so the next tier should be a redesign if history means anything

Really? So that brand new players who have never run an operation in their life, can stroll past a gear check and into Nightmare EC, all because they bought their gear from the "i have to much money, I'm throwing it away" Cash Shop?

Or are you talking about the shells only?
