Character Slots

Yeah I flew off the handle on this one hehe.

The good news is that all 30 of my characters are safely still playable on my server, and the sort feature was actually an improvement for me, now i really only use 2 pages for characters instead of scrolling through 4 pages to find the most played guys.

So, as a merged player who has 30 slots on my new server, the impact was minimal to positive. I apologize for this one overreaction when I hadnt even logged in and seen for myself, but in defense of all the hatred on the forum here, EA's modus operandi leaves much to be desired, and in most cases overreaction is proper. They quite simply have a track record of making horrible choices in game direction.

In this case, however, they handled it well.

I wonder what happens when a free to play player buys a slot..

They get 1 more slot on each server like everyone else.

I'm wondering why subs are now required to purchase from the cash shop. The promise was that subs would have to pay for nothing additional. Subs should have unlimited slots as part of their "full subscription enabling full access to all aspects of the game".

I had this yesterday as well, scared the heck out of me for a few minutes.

They are ordered by last played. I LOVE THIS CHANGE! I put this in as a suggestion a while ago and glad to see it in there. The only thing I don't like about that is that they don't seem to give you the option to sort the old way if you prefer. I'd like a dropdown where you had multiple search options:
- Alphabetical
- Last played
- Level (high to low)
- Faction

Still glad it's last played now. It was annoying having 12 characters and 2 of my more common ones had names with X & Z so I had to frequently go to the 2nd page. Now since I only regularly use 6 toons and the other 6 are place holders, it will be a while before I need to go to the second page.

Ditto. Funny thing is there is a character I want to change the name so I would have jumped on it if it happened to that character instead of those I like their names.

Let's hope no one steals someones name whilst their exclamation marked characters are in limbo. That's if they are in limbo when this happens. It is a bug so hopefully they are reading this thread.

Good call. I'm on JC and I've seen the item go for as low as 150K there (briefly), but it tends to be far more than a lowbie would be able to afford.

On JC, cash poor. lol

But because of a time card issue taking forever to get taken care of by Bioware, my referred player has left the game in disgust. He logged in and bought a slot then sent it to me as a "referral bonus" I never got because of Bioware screwing things up. And now that the coins situation seems to be fixed but he's no longer a sub so no perks really, he might empty his coins they gave him now and send more to me. I'm just thinking slots or something else now is what is holding it up.
