With F2P players why should they front their cost of calling?

Seriously? Most people I know have free calling features as long as its in the US, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico. I have it so I don't mind being on hold and won't pay extra. Who still pays per minute anyway?

Although I'm not sure how it works for international people.

F2P players aren't eligible for support. However, you bring up a good point. I wondered when I read that F2P couldn't get phone support how they would screen those calls are. Seems like the answer is they are not. I've heard people say they called in as F2P and got told they couldn't receive phone support after waiting on hold. It's possible F2P increased their call volume and they are trying to cut the cost of that. Even so, this is a poor way to solve that problem if that is what they are trying to do.

Not surprised, more cost cutting measures, we have little to no moderation on the forums after hours or the weekends, now toll free numbers are gone, do people still have conventional phones anymore that have long distance fees ? EA is slower than snail poop getting anything done, it's crappy over all yes, just shows even more they could care less about thier customer base, guess this is one of those down sides to f2p.. /sigh

i tried 312,321,123, none of these work at the beggining of call#. i tried 1-800 and get nothing. then i try a different code like 713, or 281 and get some hispanic women both times! first i was on hold last week now ur just dodging my calls!?!?!
im pretty sure i called the right number but it was in fact different before the patch.
If you dont live in the USA dial 1-(312)725-5740, you need a country code before the area code. You might need to dial 01 for some places so 01-(312)725-5740. hope that helps.

And you get to pay about 3 or 4 euro a minute, thanks BioWare, you don't suck at all.

Or you could use these numbers.
UK: (020) 356 45 481
Germany: (069) 99 991 5590 (Phone support available from 13.00 CET - 01.00 CET)
France: (0157) 324 728 (Phone support available from 13.00 CET - 01.00 CET)

Does it suck that they got rid of toll free, yup, you betchya, but its not the end of the world and very few people still have 'per minute' phones.

Out of curiosity I went to check Blizzard's support pages...and it appears they have completely done away with phone support. I can't find *any* numbers. Way of the future mayhaps?

Bah! It seems that Bioware still can't copy Blizzard well.

I disagree with NO support, but I'm sure there's a decent reason for doing away with the toll free number,

Yep, Toll Free numbers cost the owners a crapton of money still. So, with the long hold times and mass of calls due to bugs/issues people are having, I'm pretty sure their phone bill was a lot and they wanted to reduce their overhead.
