Go ingame. Earn credits. Buy the gear from GTN. Win.

It's just appearance gear.

Here's a thought if you don't like the above... go get yourself a rank 27 anything. How are you going to do that? Probably credits, right? Same thing.

The cartel markets greed will not allow players to earn things in game they would rather sell you.

"were not gouging...but were charging" lol....riiiiiiiiiiiiight. charging for everything on top of sub= gouging.

I just wish I had really grinded out those sand people and containment armor sets when I had the chance, I dont think we will be seeing its like again.

Now I may not be completely up to speed on the whole cartel market thing but I don't think a subscriber is forced to spend cartel coins (IRL money) to get the interesting things from the market. There seem to be plenty of people who put cartel items on the GTN or spam them for sale in the trade channel. For those, you're using credits, which are obtained via playing the game.

I know for a fact that many of the outfits are sold that way. I've purchased some myself, and at very reasonable prices.

What cartel items do you think you're being forced to purchase for IRL money, as a subscriber?

Second, it's in a lootbag because that makes BW more money than having you complete a story mission. Kind of obvious.
Revan is all over The Old Republic games and books. They could almost be called the story of Revan. It all began with him. Even in KOTOR 2, eventhough he wasn't there, he was mentioned everywhere. That's what i mean by iconic.

And I'm not an idiot. I know why they did it. Just wish they didn't.

What makes you say that? We had 2 events and we got 2 sets of gear. I have no doubt we will get another one for any other event. BW can absolutely make money form people getting a set from an event as any F2P guys that want have to buy the Event gear pass. which in itself shows there will be more event gear. Why would they, and legally speaking I don't think they could sell a pass for something that doesn't exist, make that pass if they didn't intend on making more events with gear sets as a reward?

I guess hyperbole and speculation are easier though.

The problem is the way you achieve diversity. If all the new, cool looking armor is easily purchasable, there's no way to show off achievement or work towards something cool looking. I'm fine with some cool sets being easily attainable (like you said, diversity is good), but there should also be a steady flow of achievement based cool gear to give people something to strive for in-game. To keep them playing, and paying.

And right now I see a lot of people running around in Revan's gear, which sorta cheapens it. Anyone can just buy it easily.
This is where I disagree. I don't need to "show off" that I've completed this much or that much in the game. I feel that's a little elitist that I need validation from others that I'm better at this game. I get the gear with the better stats to help me complete harder operations, not to show off.

There are a few things that are end-game vanity only items already such as titles, pets, and mounts. Isn't that enough?

I also sort of hate how the endgame gear doesn't look that good, but I don't think the cartel items look much better. If I really wanted to look a certain way, then I can buy it with real cash, or wait until it's sold on the AH, or wait until I've earned my sub cc amount I get per month. That's what I did with the two customer single-blade sabers.

Isn't that good enough?

The point is that you should be able to craft, quest, drop, or pick up the gear through an npc vendor(similar to pvp gear) by doing something in game. Right now the gear's primary location is the cartel market and if it never hits the GTN it's the only place it would ever be. What is wrong with giving people options for acquiring the gear? Plenty of other games do the same thing. Why does this game get a pass?

Edit: Hell even something similar to what GW2 does would be better. Make it possible to acquire Cartel Coins in game and put a cartel market vendor on Nar Shadda instead of giant overlay that basically takes you out of the game world.

Where was the holiday event that every MMO in the history of MMOs has during this time of year?

Have you seen them stock the collector vendor, or anything other than the cartel market for months?

I havent, so hyperbole and speculation are all thats left.

All signs point to charging for everything.

Personally I'm not expecting much decent looking gear to come through content anymore, just through the Cashshop.
Kinda takes away the incentive to quest, not much satifisfaction on clicking a button and boom, I look cool.. I don't mind it being in the store for those that like the instant gratification, but as some one who likes to play the game and not the cartel store, I would like to be able to get it in an epic quest line of some kind, would sure keep me paying and playing longer with my sub.

The cartel market is nothing but recipes of existing in game armors. Everyone can get the model with arguably better colors than what the cartel market has. The only thing the cartel market has over in game items are adaptability. Don't like the CM? Go get the existing models yourself you lazy bastards. People wanted simple recolors of existing gear and they got it.

They did that already. They give you 500-700 a month for just being a subscriber! LOL

But seriously I think some items should involve a long quest line like HK-51 and for those who don't want to spend that much time doing it, there's the cartel market option. =D

Oh but wait, some of those outfits are available already, but only for the respective classes.
