Why, on God's green earth, is something as ICONIC as the Revan armor set something you get from loot bags??

( Enter, the all illusive and never mentioned Legendary items)

I am so sad that the cool new gear, weapons, and items available in the cartel market are never going to be items you had to actually go out and earn. A quest line to get the Helm of Revan? Awesome. Long chains to have a chance at getting pieces to a full set of cool new armor or lightsaber crystals that took effort (like the magenta) would have been and meant more to the community than bioware turning into a cash hound.

I guess i hoped for better.

All this is true. It isn't actually something I'd pondered much since I was so glad to get some gear options that suited my rp. It's especially true of things like the white crystals and special lightsabers kind of devalue similar items that are obtained in hard mode ops. At the same time, I'm also aware that this is a very expensive game to expand, more than most with the greater emphasis on story and acting. That has to be paid for somewhere and if we have to lose small things to get something greater, I'm okay with that. People wouldn't buy the packs as much as they do if there weren't really desirable things in them. I think they would have preferred to go with subscriptions and what the op suggests, but people wanted f2p, the game needed to make money, and here we are.

Why don't you guys just start a petition? If you get enough signatures then bioware and the devs will have no choice but to give the people what they want.

With adaptive armor, and all this cool armor being purchasable, everyone is starting to look the same, regardless of class or achievement. It used to be that you'd see someone running around with a cool new set of armor and thinking that's the look you want, and you had something fun/cool to work towards over the next weeks/months.

Instant gratification gets old fast 'cause it has very shallow worth/achievement.
Huh? Before this everyone looked like in end-game pvp or pve gear. At least this gives more options for those people. Before, in our guild, every sorc and marauder looked like each other. Now, thankfully, there's some that stick with their endgame Dreadguard look, and others decided to wear completely different outfits from the Cartel Market.

I don't see everyone running around with Revean masks or Nil's mask. I see some, but not many. What's wrong with diversity?

What seems kind of wrong to me is the frequency of the drops in the cartel market. Revan's Robes drops are so numerous, while the helmet is so infrequent. For something that iconic they should have made the drop ratio of the robes the same as the mask. Especially if they are only going to restrict them to the CM. I would think that the robes could be a drop for the 2 FP's that involve Revan. Not coming up every time but more like you get the full set 1 every 500 runs by people. I think that would be be a fair way to put them out there.

No, no, diversity is good. What you pointed out is also bad. They really need to stop making new PvP/PvE sets just recolors of the same unpopular looking gear.

The problem is the way you achieve diversity. If all the new, cool looking armor is easily purchasable, there's no way to show off achievement or work towards something cool looking. I'm fine with some cool sets being easily attainable (like you said, diversity is good), but there should also be a steady flow of achievement based cool gear to give people something to strive for in-game. To keep them playing, and paying.

And right now I see a lot of people running around in Revan's gear, which sorta cheapens it. Anyone can just buy it easily.

Honestly I hope they have both. The cash shop is obviously a good source of revenue and something that frankly the game needs to stay healthy at this point. They need to make iconic items for both the shop and for doing epic things and make those things different from each other. Also they need to keep the system of having to do content for stats, even if you buy most or all of your look in the Cartel Market.

^ For truth. Sadly, it's all about the money money money... not actually making the game better.

And as for cartel gear being nicer, that's all highly subjective. Some pieces look like crap, some look good. That goes for both the cartel market as well as the ingame rewards. For example the latest cartel market sith raider set, looks butt ugly. I'd by far prefer the dread guard war leader over it.
Care to share a link or search term? Thanks.

I am really worried that we have seen the last of legacy adaptive sets from world events

The cartel markets greed will not allow players to earn things in game they would rather sell you.

"were not gouging...but were charging" lol....riiiiiiiiiiiiight. charging for everything on top of sub= gouging.

I just wish I had really grinded out those sand people and containment armor sets when I had the chance, I dont think we will be seeing its like again.

First, define "iconic" because that line made me rofl

Second, it's in a lootbag because that makes BW more money than having you complete a story mission. Kind of obvious.
