Honestly IMO this "mainstream common" he's referring to = television and movies more so than irl. He's also alluding to the fact that in general women where more revealing clothing then men in current western culture, video games over exaggerate that to an extreme degree. Why do they do this? Because statically single men are by far the largest demographic for games and sex sells. I'm not saying it's right, but it's the truth. Conversely if a ton of the male outfit started looking overly skimpy and sexual a lot of guys would consider it (not being offensive just stating facts) 'gay' and would not enjoy playing in this 'sausage fest'.

There is too much sexism in video games, but until it stop selling I don't think it's likely to change. Also I do think the amount of 'slave girl' outfits are over the top, every single pack doesn't need one. (For the record not a single one of my toons, even companions, are wearing a slave girl type article, though I do own a few and have debated it).

They're annoying some male fans as well.

And if nothing else, it would be nice with some "elegant" or casual outfits that don't show off as much skin as possible for the female characters. I know the Social vendors have a few, but it's worth adding more through the Cartel Market.
