Actually, your comparison is not the same. I did not buy the phantom chestpiece off the GTN (second-hand without a warranty). I bought a pack, opened it and that chest was one of the items. I put it on because, upon previewing the item I paid for, I liked how it looked. Now I have a bound item that I think is ugly as sin.

You strike me as someone who's probably awful at customer service if you think you drew any logical parallels.

People here are mostly upset about perceptor's and phantom's armor sets. Haven't seen much whine about revan's.

Annnd... Appearently this as well!

Its amusing how you had to add those last few words to your argument. Why say something new when you can say what's been said before and add an insult - it definitely made what you said carry more weight!

Your post does not explain if you bought the pack from the GTM or with real money, it implies GTM and if so - you're still not the original buyer... And to be fair, viewing the cartel packs was one click away (since it, unfortunately, is impossible to remove the cartel market's symbol)...

I bought to Phantom skin from the GTN, not realising it was supposed to be the winged monstrosity that it is now. I liked the sleek black look I had before.

Sadface.

Edit: My husband is laughing at me right now

Hmm, nope, I got my Phantom Armor from a Blockade Runner pack, paid with hard-earned cash.

Moreover, your statement is invalid even for those who bought it off the GTN with ingame credits: those credits were earned while using a service provided by Bioware, likely paying Bioware for the possibility of having them in the first place, so no, it still counts as something sold by Bioware (obtained through a service I'm paying Bioware for, to be used within said service).

Maybe more people that bought the packs on the first day bought it for what was shown on the picture. BUT, after that, many more people bought it for what was actually coming with the packs. It was never advertised to the players at large that anything was going to be changed. The only players that knew were the ones that had complained about the items not matching, were subscribed to that particular thread, AND bothered to read every post to find out there were going to be changes.

The main problem is most people DID NOT know that it looked "incorrect" or that it was going to be changed. Otherwise the Phantom chest piece would not have been a hot-ticket item on the GTN and no one would have bought it until they could preview its actual look before purchase.

I am not posting here for other players; only for Bioware. Trolls can save your opinions for other people who care because I simply don't. Bioware: I would just like you to know I have 2 accounts, and 24 characters - subscribed. I play them all and buy gear for them all. I purchased 6 Phantom chest pieces for around 400k each ( the going market price on my server) specifically because they didn't have the hood. I hate hoods and will not wear gear with hoods, because it both obscures the character's face and removes their hair from view. The only way to remove these hoods is to wear a hat that also removes the hair, and thus the same issue. I, like 99.99999% of other players in the game, use the gear preview window to see what the item looks like BEFORE buying it, and I buy items BECAUSE I want that look. I am someone who cares about the way my characters look, and save and spend accordingly. That's why I play the game. I now am stuck with 2.4 million in gear ( not including all the money spent on gloves and other pieces at 100k each that you also changed), that all goes into the bank forever instead of being worn. It took me quite awhile to earn that money, as I play my alts instead of simply farming on 50s. The disappointment I now have over money spent and nice gear simply ruined (by my tastes) is great. I hope there are a lot of people you pleased, because this truly was the straw that broke the camels back. I will not come back to this game again, for simply lack of customer empathy.

Thanks.
  • Well, to me the Spymaster looks much better. It was so blah before. Now it has a military look to it.
  • I also appreciate the new version of Revan's Lower Robe. I don't get why the Chest was lightened so much though. Being lighter doesn't make it match better with the new Lower Robe, quite the opposite.
  • The Preceptor Top looks better with the shoulder pieces that were missing, but the addition of a hood was unnecessary. There was no hood on the icon or in the advertisement. Why add one to the in-game modal?
  • The addition to the Phantom Top was totally the wrong call. It looked much better without the shoulder scarf. Really, with the Revan Chest did we really need another set with a shoulder piece like that?
  • I do like the addition of goggles to the Trailblazer helmet. There are already several headpieces in-game that matched the previous version. The version with goggles is much more rare. And the new texturing added to the Trailblazer set makes it overall much better, IMO.

So, Spymaster and Trailblazer I'm okay with. The rest should be rethought and fixed.
