Give us some info so we believe we did not buy only "5 moar lvls and 1 planet".

I don't know...some "NEW MAKEB INFO! NEW WZ!" would be enought for people to BELIEVE.

Not only will it save you the worry of "zomg am I getting ripped of!?" But, if the content sucks, you can rest assured in knowing that you don't ever have to buy it, and you can give up on the game because that's the only way forward.

Seriously people, this topic did not warrant this many threads.
The most worrying thing is that Bioware isn't saying anything, despite obviously having the information available. It's a very, very shady tactic; take their money, then tell them what they're getting.

I'm not pre-ordering, but that's not the issue. I fear that all the people supporting this by pre-ordering and sticking up for them on the forums will encourage them to do more things like this in the future (if there is a future for this game).

You people don't HAVE to preorder. Enjoy sitting on the sidelines when I'm on the new planet.

You're precisely right.

We are buying a digital download. What's included can be added and subtracted right up until launch. They will hold off on what they promise because they can pull content out of the package if they haven't mentioned it and then repackage it in another "adventure pack" for mid-summer.

This is par the course for BioWare's marketing team. Waiting for the pre-order window to run out before releasing concrete information about the product? That's right up BioWare's alley.

Well you see they gave the whole game away free recently 1-50 so they obviously had this planned. We pay for more content above level 50. It's not some weird conspiracy , you make it sound like you can't get the expansion after tonight. You can and they will release new information for you. Also yes of course they wanted to see how popular the expansion was and give people an early warning of the product , before Christmas is a good time for such things. So now they know who will be there for the first 5 days and also they know how popular such expansions are in the present climate. i know for one that I would never ever make an MMORPG for the PC ever. There is too much hating to the extreme where the power is now changing and it's now with the masses.

Cheers,

That's exactly what pre-orders are for... in theory.

If you have a great project but can't afford its cost, you show guidelines and little key things and launch a pre-order campaign to raise funds.

Where are these informations?

Yeah, but what are you going to do for the other 4 days?

Here's what I did

List of what $40 buys you
List of when $10 SHOULD buy you
List of what we are actually getting.

I was simply pointing out that for people who say "it's only a $10 expac" that point can be misleading, because IMO the average consumer would look at that and say "Oh it's a 1/4 the price so it must have 1/4 the stuff"

But in reality, it's a 1/4 the price and comes with 1/10 the stuff, so calling it a $10 expac is kind of misleading as it doesn't come with enough stuff to be worth ANY money in my opinion (it should be free) and it certainly doesn't deserve the EXPAC title. Maybe "adventure pack" or "that planet we said was super cool and awesome and free"
I understand what you are saying, but it isn't entirely correct. You say what $40 buys. But the game is in fact free. You can get all that content you mentioned for free, not $40. So they are charging $10 for something much less than what you can get for free.
Now, what other people are saying is that your subscription (or lack thereof) will get you the content you are expecting to get in the $40 or $10 or whatever.

I want Bioware to take my money, I want them to thrive, and I want them to make it a better game. If nobody wants the expansion, the end will be near. If it sells a million copies, maybe they start to invest in the game again and start doing the things we are asking for.
Maybe the game will improve and people come back, pay a subscription, and life will be good.

Or we can just argue that the expac is not worth the $10, quit the game and it will go away. The choice is ours to make. I'm paying my $10. You can do what you want.
