I completely understand people wanting more information, I do too!!! If there's one area Bioware fails more on than any other area, it's communication.

But...I also think BadOrb is right (and I don't say that often :P) - we do have enough to pre-order imo. Is it all we'd like to know? No, of course not. Is it enough to justify a $10 investment? I feel it is. We have an overview, we lack the details. I think the overview is enough to risk my $10.

If youre ok with what they gave you so far, then preorder. Your bonus for doing so 5 early days. That's all.
I feel like they have me by the gonads.
I'm in a serious raiding guild, so I feel like if I don't preorder, I'll be gimping my guild. A whole five days to level/gear up is huge. But if I do preorder, then I've paid for something that I don't even know about and that does not sit well with me at all (I learned my lesson with the D3 collector's edition. Never again).

That said, I will definitely be holding off, guild be damned. They will understand.

You have people wanting to buy this... expansion, but they want more information before doing so. They don't want to wait until a week before it launches, they want information. Information Bioware - something that you don't understand. Communication too. It's a great thing that goes hand in hand with information.
And they have a planned roll-out schedule of updates and reports about what is exactly included with the Makeb expansion.

Just because they aren't saying what you want them to doesn't mean they're doing it specifically to make you angry.

If people want more details before pre-ordering, then they'll need to wait, and risk losing out on the special $9.99 deal. If they want to go ahead and take the leap, they're free to order it in advance, as I have. It's up to the consumer.

BioWare has played it according to their plan, now it's your turn to play your part.

I'll just go back to my WoW examples (AGAIN I KNOW ALL YOU PEOPLE HATE WoW BUT PLEASE BEAR WITH ME. HAHA THAT WAS A PANDA JOKE IN AN ATTEMPT TO APPEASE YOU). We knew about TWICE the amount of info about WOTLK than Makeb from the WOTLK REVEAL TRAILER. Something that was released wayyyy before they even started taking preorders. And that is terrible. If you have such great things that would make people want to buy your product, why on EARTH would you hide them? That's completely the opposite of what you'd want to do to market it. Again, I'm not asking for super specifics, just you know, a reasonable amount of information, which has been withheld from us. It's really skeezy and totally does not sit well with me, but I guess you lot are way more trusting. Not sure why. Bioware has been a serial liar since this game launched. Why would they stop now?

Yeah I do realise that we want more information but as I said and you agree ( shock horror lol ) we do have enough information to justify $10 to get the 5 days early access. Just think we will learn what other things are in the Expansion over the coming weeks and for the people who pre-ordered all those things will be a nice surprise. Best not to get our hopes up to much though. It's only 5 extra levels what's that in xp at a guess ? 2-3 mil xp , it will be a small xpac i think.

Cheers,

BadOrb.

You must have skipped DA2 and ME3 then. Two solid reasons i personaly WONT pre order any product from Bioware again.

Not to say i wont buy this expansion down the line (after its released i suspect), but i certainly wont part with £10 or £1 for a product i know next to nothing about.

I dont have faith in BW to deliver and i certainly have zero faith in their marketing machine after the ME3 debacle

It has nothing to do with being gullible. It's about feeling you are interested enough to place an order. Hell, I pre-order stuff all the time! I pre-order new records by my fav bands without having heard a song. I pre-order movies I haven't seen. I pre-order books by my fav authors without having read them. And they all cost me more than $10. We know the basic outline for RotHC. I'm very much enjoying the game. That's enough for me to place an order. To you that might not be enough, and that's okay. But don't insult me for having different feelings about this than you.

This is such a dead subject. Seriously. People want to compare WoW's expansion to SWTOR's expansion but they want to gloss over the details. If you compare the information that was available about M.O.P. when M.O.P. became available for preorder, it was pretty darn close to the information that was available about RoTHC when it became available for preorder. Yet for some reason, only SWTOR gets the beat stick.

Also, since when does making something AVAILABLE for purchase constitute said company DEMANDING you purchase it? Never once has Bioware said you will be penalized for not preordering. They've offered a reward for those who do preorder, but absolutely no penalty for those who don't. If you're so upset about the "lack of information" concerning this expansion, why are you so upset about not getting 5 days of early access to it?

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug doesn't open until December 13th of this year. There are no trailers for it. The only piece of information about it is a teaser poster that has Bilbo's face on it. Yet you can "preorder" your tickets to this movie on Fandango right now. I don't see anyone complaining about that...
