Yes, the original post is what made me drink today. Not reading (which I didn't), just seeing it.... made my eyes hurt.

You don't know why they're messaging you these things, or care. They're ignored, done. There's no reason to take away their right to play a videogame just because they're typing things with their keyboard which is easily ignored regardless.

Might they have had a bad night and they're drinking? Stupidly, yes, they decide to annoy you through text. And instead of just ignoring it, you wish to go to greater lengths to make sure that they're banned or losing something.

Spiteful, honestly. Report is not for these trivial things, it's for legitimate harassment and obscenities, and cheaters. Like if someone was so hellbent on harassing you that they make alts. Not these one-time things that you needlessly complicate.

By the way, I'm not writing this due to a scenario that happened to me or anyone else. I myself have never been banned, and neither have you probably. Which is why you don't get that being banned is for serious offenses and not for things uptight people deem "reportable".
LOL, you are so wrong in so many ways.

I cannot believe you are trying to protray a reported harraser as a victim. Unbelievable...

I do move on. but I'm not letting awful behavior slide, because then these people harass someone newer to the game, or younger, or take your pick and they ruin someone else's day. and sometimes it can escalate. I'd rather deal with it BEFORE it escalates.

and thank you for calling me uptight. because it that's what it means being uptight? taking no BS from anyone and not letting them get away with bad behavior? then I'll gladly wear that definition as a badge of honor.
letting things slide is what ends up with a toxic community and players you actually want to be playing with - leaving.
I can understand to a degree, but these days people report for nearly every little thing and there are countless times where others get banned for minor inconveniences simply because someone was annoyed or angry at them for a minor thing. Most of these days every game I play, I fear of getting banned just because someone might report for kicks.

Your situation is understandable, but..the way things are going now with games that have report features..

I don't know the situation and if it's an actual harasser. Many times when I hear someone report, they're anal about something minor and feel the need to wave the "report" flag.
If it's ACTUAL harassment, and not what you think, fine.
Though at the moment I guess you assume "reportable harassment" would be if someone called you a terrible player.

you can rest easy, I don't report just for kicks. heck, I don't even report people who spam duel requests or have "questionable" names. I just ignore them and move on. but in situation like OP, that was borderline. I don't know how firmly she said her "no" and I'm not trying to defend her stalker here, but sometimes, people think you are encouraging them, unless you are firm and direct and they need that firmness to stop - it could have been just simple "ignore" situation. but I've met people like the one in OP, that wouldn't leave you alone, despite the firm "no" and even a warning (if I tell someone "dude stop harassing me and leave me alone, or I'm going to report you" and they still won't leave me alone, you know, that sort of thing). those folks? they get reported. (with screenshots of the misbehavior being taken, as proof)

I know some people abuse the feature. I'm not sure if they get punished for it, but reporting someone for harassment when it wasn't warranted - is its own type of harassment and the one that reported unfairly should be warned (or banned) instead. generally, Game masters that deal with these reports, can pull chat records and see for themselves.

report feature not existing and/or not being used? is worse. because it creates an environment where trolls and griefers take over, since they now know, they can misbehave with impunity.

personally, I never feared being reported and banned in any of the MMO's I played or currently play. But I also politely extricate myself away from people that are giving me bad vibe. it even works about 90% of the time :P

My question to you... Did you even read your post?

I seriously doubt you did.

Your actions led to the negative comments. Don't try to palm it off like your an innocent bystander that doesn't deserve them. Next time perhaps, take pride in what you write, in the hopes that more people will decide to read it.

I for one refuse to.

Unfortuantly as my main is a healer the bad news is yes most pugs are that bad. Not all but it confuses the crap out of my why people think the healer should out of combat heal everyone. It takes longer than using your out of combat heal, I then end up starting evey battle with half force and all heals on a cool down. Whats worse is when people dont even wait to be healed and run into combat on half health and die.

Luckly I am a guy so no creapy chatting up.

I find it funny all these people saying that typed words actually hurt them somehow irl. I mean if thats the case, you might want to go find some help for that because I really dont think thats normal!

Or how about the people who take the time to tell everyone that they wont take the time to read it! That doesnt seem silly at all does it? If it was such a waste of your time why bother saying so and just move on?

I was able to read it just find so for those who seem to not be able to, you might need to work on those reading skills of yours!

Use friendlist, especially if your not in a guild. Imo itīs even more important than ignore. If you want to do a FP check your friendlist if anyone is online and ask them if they wanna join.

The only problem with friendslist is when they get to level 50ish they vanish. Well, most of them do. Theyīre probably leveling another alt. I really wish we could add accounts to our friendslists.

Also, ofc you should be able to tell who you are and what you do in real life to your online friends, but if the first question people ask is "are you a real girl" then dont. (Itīs probably not the kinds of people you want as friends anyways). I rarely tell people iīm a guy either, itīs just not relevant.

About FPīs. The worst FP imo are hard modes. Hard mode content is all about skipping mobs and getting the FP done as fast as possible. The level 50 storymodes arenīt much better. The medium level ones usually are the best, but ofc thats no garanty.

Being a healer is very stressful.

This is normal. You will group with people who have no idea how to work with a healer, you will group with smugglers that try to take the heal role, and you will group with horses (that can use computers :? ).

Just remember.... There's not much you can do when you get a bad group.
