Are we seriously supposed to preorder with this little info?

I heard that supposedly Bioware/EA had said Makeb would be a free content update. Now it's not. Guess what? Sometimes you have to pay to keep things going and I am sure this is going towards the numbers that corporate is looking at to decide the amount of future resources into the game. LOTRO subscribers have to pay for expansions, EQ/EQ2 subscribers have to pay for expansions, and WoW subscribers have to pay for expansions.

Just because the content is small doesn't mean it isn't an expansion. People have been trained in the past decade to consider an expansion to double the size of the game. Well that isn't always what an expansion does. Heck the Battlefield 1942 expansions added a small amount of weapons and a few maps each. Overall, with all of the expansions to that game, it maybe doubled the size of the game. Maybe.

Get off your horse, or speeder, or whatever you're riding. If you don't want to pay, don't. If you do end up paying great! I pr-eordered to show EA that this game is worth putting resources into. Then and only then will this game receive the staffing and additional resources it desperately needs.

The MMO industry, especially players are set in this cycle of "Oh no, this game is dying! This game sucks! Can't wait for [insert upcoming MMO here] it will wipe the floor with this game!" Many don't want to stay and try and vote with their wallets that the game is worth the effort. WoW at launch was not the MMO pedestal that is is today, far from it.
Maybe, people aren't willing to preorder something from a company that has a track record of going back on its word? I guess "prudent customer" now means "cheap entitled child" now or something.... you people make me smile.

I'll be honest, I have pre-ordered it, but I completely agree with this and the OP...being prudent (good word btw) is now being frowned upon and mocked by so many...talk about people who feel "entitled"...geezus.

It is odd that they are not advertising the information of the expansion pack. I would understand if they did something like this AFTER customers are generally happy with a product but there as it stands...Those that are pleased, unlike a good amount that are not, they are generally cautious. It would be good if they were at least open with THIS expansion so they can get people to get excited. Maybe they are waiting for those who buy things on first response (And little information) to purchase it then slowly give out information for those who are willing to wait and don't care for 5 days early info...Still bugs me a bit.

One more point on information that is not given.

For those that pre-order, exactly when are those 5 early access days? Cause if they told us, I missed it.

Edit: So "Spring". Missed that.

This ^

For me it is less than a pack of 20 smokes.
The siege of Coruscant was in fact brought to an end after the republic agreed to give the Empire a Shrubbery, one that looked nice and wasn't too expensive.

Did they tell you what it was before you bought it?

When you buy a CC pack - do they tell you whats in it before you open it? You have an "idea" of what "could" be in it....

Do you stop celebrating Christmas, because you don't know what's under the Christmas tree?

You've been give information - if your not happy with the amount...then I suggest you wait until the expansion launches - Google, Makeb info.. - watch YouTube vids of all the boss fights....................THEN, make your decision.

What the heck is the point in telling us EVERY detail and EVERY piece of content that are going to release in the expansion? I don't WANT to know! It's nice to have something to look forward to......

BTW - a little research into the threads can go a long way to answer your "concerns" :

The 5 new levels will occupy players for a fair amount of time, and there's plenty of content to get you there (including a lot of stuff tucked away for the explorers out there). Keep in mind that this announcement is just the start – as we approach Makeb's launch, you'll see more details about the content coming with Rise of the Hutt Cartel!
Short of them telling you what color the flowers are going to be....not sure what more people really expect...

Yes it is. I am always the one defending Bioware on these forums, go ahead and check my post history if you don't believe me.

I love Bioware and I love SWTOR, I just feel like they are taking advantage of my trust by asking me to pay for something I know nothing about.

And I don't see anything wrong with asking for more info before making a purchase. That's called being a smart customer.
Unsubscribed due to no new Operations.
I am happy that there will be a renewed focus on story, I love story, its why I picked this MMO. But I picked an MMO, not an episodic single player RPG that I have to pay a subscription to receive the episodes.

A "smart" customer...pre-orders something, for a cheaper price...that he/she's going to just end up purchasing down the road anyways...and probably paying more, because that "smart" customer...didn't pre-order.
