HiddenPalm
Greetings all SWTOR gamers. If you have not experienced SWTOR game play with "SWTOR Unleashed", you should try it now. It makes a virtual ramdisk that puts aspects of SWTOR into virtual memory for improved game play experience. Go here to learn more. SWTOR Unleashed has "assets" in which you choose to put into virtual memory, as long as you leave about 3gb of memory free for background PC applications, it works wonders. This thread is going to compile a list of those "assets" with their descriptions. As of yet, no such list exists. I'm asking you as a fellow SWTOR gamer, to please help with the descriptions on this list. I will update the OP, with every bit of input, you the community can help put together. Please contribute and share what you already know about the assets here. Please don't ask how to use SWTOR UNLEASHED on this thread, as I didn't put it together, I only use it. Research/Ask here. And Please don't remind us about how this is the job of the developers. Fans love this game, and they have stepped up, like in any other game where mods and such are made by fans, regardless of how right you are. Stay on topic and help get these assets their respective descriptions, thank you all in advance. Here is the list of the "Assets" which require your help in getting their descriptions: swtoren-us_area_alderaan_1 swtoren-us_area_balmorra_1 swtoren-us_area_belsavis_1 swtoren-us_area_corellia_1 swtoren-us_area_coruscant_1 swtoren-us_area_dromund_kaas_1 swtoren-us_area_hoth_1 swtoren-us_area_hutta_1 swtoren-us_area_ilum-1 swtoren-us_area_korriban_1 swtoren-us_area_misc_1 swtoren-us_area_nar_shaddaa_1 swtoren-us_area_open_worlds_1 swtoren-us_area_ord_mantell_1 swtoren-us_area__quesh_1 swtoren-us_area_raid_1 swtoren-us_area_taris_1 swtoren-us_area_tatooine_1 swtoren-us_area_tython_1 swtoren-us_area_voss_1 swtoren-us_cnv_comp_chars_imp_1 swtoren-us_cnv_comp_chars_rep_1 swtoren-us_cnv_misc_1 swtoren-us_cnv_transitions_1 swtoren-us_global_1 swtoren-us_zed_1 swtormain_anim_creature_a_1 swtormain_anim__creature_b_1 swtormain_anim_humanoid_bfab_1 swtormain_anim_humanoid_bfns_1 swtormain_anim_humanoid_bmaf_1 swtormain_anim_humanoid_bms_1 swtormain_anim_misc_1 swtormain_areadat_1 swtormain_areadat_epsilon_1 swtormain_area_alderaan_1 swtormain_area_balmorra_1 swtormain_area_belsavis_1 swtormain_area_corellia_1 swtormain_area_coruscant_1 swtormain_area_dromund_kaas_1 swtormain_area_epsilon_1 swtormain_area_hoth_1 swtormain_area_hutta_1 swtormain_area_ilum_1 swtormain_area_korriban_1 swtormain_area_misc_1 swtormain_area_nar_shaddaa_1 swtormain_area_open_worlds_1 swtormain_area_ord_mantell_1 swtormain_area_quesh_1 swtormain_area_raid_1 swtormain_area_taris_1 swtormain_area_tatooine_1 swtormain_area_tython_1 swtormain_area_voss_1 swtormain_area_zed_1 swtormain_art_area_all_arch_a_1 swtormain_art_area_all_arch-b-1 swtormain_art_area_all_item_1 swtormain_art_creature_a_1 swtormain_art_creature_b_1 swtormain_art_creature_npc_1 swtormain_art_dynamic_cape_1 swtormain_art_dynamic_chest_1 swtormain_art_chest_tight_1 swtormain_art_dynamic_hand_1 swtormain_art_dynamic_head_1 swtormain_art_dynamic_lower_1 swtormain_art_dynamic_mags_1 swtormain_art_fx_1 swtormain_art_harvesting_1 swtormain_art_misc_1 swtormain_art_space_combat_1 swtormain_art_vehicle_1 swtormain_art_weapon_1 swtormain_art_zed_1 swtormain_bnk_audiodata_1 swtormain_bnk_audio_1 swtormain_bnk_location_1 swtormain_bnk_streamed_a_1 swtormain_bnk_streamed_b_1 swtormain_bnk_streamed_c_1 swtormain_bnk_voc_1 swtormain_bnk_zed_1 swtormain_cnv_alien_1 swtormain_gamedata_1 swtormain_gfx_assets_1 swtormain_global_1 swtormain_systemgenerated_gom_1 swtormain_zed_1 Edited January 3, 2013 by HiddenPalm

arunav
It's cool that you care about the game enough to want to make it better. It's a good game. Why isn't EA hiring more BW employees to improve SWTOR?
HiddenPalm
It's cool that you care about the game enough to want to make it better. It's a good game. Why isn't EA hiring more BW employees to improve SWTOR? I have no idea if EA is hiring or not. I doubt it. I know they laid off a whole mess of people none of which complained, leaving corporations free to lay off more people without remorse. We don't even know how many. We only heard from very few, who are pretty much really wealthy. Game developers should take heed, that there is no security in that field of work, thanks to the ones before them. Only in my country. Workers in other countries aren't easily walked over. People are getting laid off all over the map over here. I guess it's what the last two President's were talking about when they said it was going to get rough, as they throw away all of our safety nets and tax dollars for world conquest and people accept it because that's what they vote for. Well not everyone accepts it. But yeah, Im not trying to make the game better. I'm trying to make "SWTOR Unleashed" better. And I think Bioware needs to show some gratitude for the makers of SWTOR Unleashed and throw them a check or give them free gameplay. Because it's pretty cool. It's them who did the work, not me. I'm just starting this thread so we can get this list of descriptions done. But its been around for a few days and no one has contributed, which means no one knows what the assets are for. People have been using this for months too. Thanks for bumping it back to the first page. Edited January 7, 2013 by HiddenPalm
imischa
I love to see some official descriptions added! But here's my thought on what is what: _anim_ probably are animations (think of pre-recorded movements taken into a series of snapshots) _art_dynamics simular to animations but know as dynamic in 3d because a program 'renders this dynamically' _art_ not sure but I'm guessing these are textures (looking at their size) _area_ these must be the 3d data for the different area/maps _bnk_ these ones are for sure are bink files used for either or both video/sound (compression program by radtools) _cnv_ looks like character data That leaves a few that are probably global and misc stuff Edited November 22, 2013 by imischa
