I'd like to see more info on this 'expac' before preordering!

Until they come out with a definitive list of what's included in this "expansion pack" no one but Bioware knows anything for certain.

Not sure why you want to argue this, unless you work for Bioware and know exactly what it's going to include.
Bioware, not me and not you, has ONLY put out Makeb with this and all the things 50+. You are saying there is more. i ask for where you get this impression from and your answer shows out of thin air full of hopes and dreams and lollipops. I'm going by what BIOWARE has put out. There's a difference in going by what they say and going by what you hope.

Until Bioware proves me wrong, I will still say it. And btw, Bioware proving me wrong would mean more information which is what the OP asked for. Funny how that works out.

Same thing was said before. "I'm sure that CE is worth 180 dollars with the CE store, and all the other goodies." Fast forward less than 12 months and a good chunk of those posters are regretting that purchase and some no longer sub to this game.

But with each WoW expac I bought, I had a LOT of info on the content in order to make the decision to purchase. And with the case of the latest WoW expac, I was able to make a very early decision that I probably wouldn't like it, and did not buy. This information matters!

I realize that we are far from the expac's actual launch, but we are nearing on this preorder deadline to get in 5 days early. I play with a nice guild (who are probably the only reason I'm not F2P), and I know many of them have preordered so I'd like to be able to make an informed decision and be able to join them in the headstart!

At the end of the day I'll probably just plop down my $10, but it's also the principle of the thing. It feels like BW is putting pressure on their most loyal players (those who'd be interested in head start) to just assume this content is worth it and purchase early before any REAL info is released. I can't remember the last time I put down money to purchase a game I knew so little about. In fact it probably hasn't happened - am I just fastidious or what?

Here are 2 examples of some info that I'd like to hear more about and could help me reach a decision, or at least reassure me that I'm not wasting my money. I know the expac is not near release but this stuff is pretty general:

-Each class is getting 1 new ability. I'm sure these are not done but why not share some of the concepts with us? If I were to learn my Powertech tank is getting a new CD I might get excited. If he's getting a CC I'd be slightly less excited. Aside from this one ability, will everything be just business as usual for your class?

-What is happening to PVE endgame? Will there be a whole new tier of FPs and Operations, and the old ones will become relics a la WoW? Will the old ones just be retuned for level 55? Will there be ANY new FPs or Operations? Perhaps some low level FPs finally getting a HM version? If there is no new content, is more endgame PVE at least being worked on for a subsequent post-expac patch?
I realize there was a VAGUE promise that new content will eventually come in the latest State of the Game, but is a vague TIMEFRAME too much to ask? Namely when I reach 55 will I be (a) enjoying a new operation? or (b) raiding old content bumped up and waiting on an operation (i) one patch away or (ii) so early in development they can't tell me when?

As it is now I'm purchasing the ability to gain 5 more levels, experience one new planet, and then do... who knows? 4 days!

Exactly how i feel! I've supported the game since day one and still do. $10 is nothing compared to what i spend daily but like you said it is all about the principal.I'm totally at a loss for words how they can expect people to pay up front yet give very little info.Starting to wonder if this is more of that close minded thinking that existed before all the lay-offs where bioware had no clue what the MMO customer's expectations are. Most of us wouldnt think twice about spending the money we just deserve more if your asking for our dollars.just plain bad business.......

Everything below is from the state of the game (http://www.swtor.com/info/news/blog/2013010), everything I've bolded may or may not apply to people that are not 50. It's not clear that lowbies can, but it's also not clear this will not apply to them either.

Digital Expansion: Rise of the Hutt Cartel! The team has been working for a long time on this, and is very excited to get it out to you. We have greatly expanded on the original concept with several new systems, 5 new levels, a big new planet, new storylines, new skills and abilities and more beyond that. Keep your eyes open for more information over the next several months.

Rise of the Hutt Cartel (which is targeted at our high level players). We have a plan mapped out for the upcoming year that will keep the elder game fresh and interesting for players of all types. Overall, we’re aiming to introduce a more diverse array of activities – more stuff to do with your Companion, more challenges to tackle with groups, and more reasons for guilds to recruit. We’ll also be improving our itemization, introducing new incentives to revisit existing areas[b], and a lot of other exciting things that will be revealed as we move through the upcoming year.

You forgot to bold Rise of the Hutt Cartel (which is targeted at our high level players). Oh I know why. You are trying to cover it up.

You may be able to get new abilities before L50, that is true.

But that companion stuff isn't Makeb he's talking about "future updates" to they core game.
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

Exactly, OP.

If someone is being vague about an item they want you to purchase, there is most likely a reason for that.

I have a bridge to sell you, and it's only four hundred bucks!

And if you believe that, I also have a car to sell you. It's only 350, but you have pay me before I tell you the make/model, and if it even runs. Deal?

Would not buy a 50 cent cup of coffee without knowing exactly what was in it.
