Abandoning a toon?

I had to abandon five level 50 toons and about 20 million credits because Bioware will not allow server transfers and Jung Ma is dead.

what i generally do in mmos is reroll a new character (not delete an old one) if i have been having problems or there have been significant playstyle changes if i have been away for a bit

as others have said, deleting a level 46 might be throwing the baby out with the bath water
you have many companions that could serve a new "reroll" quite well

crew skills are easily reset
talent skill points are easily reset
green gear which is level appropriate is easily attainable (if you have some credits to spend) and would serve you well in questing

reroll a new toon with a class you find appealing
pick basic crew skills for "new toons/new servers"-- essentially slicing and 2 gathering and level the new toon
you will get some credits which can then be applied to the "level 46 toon" when you feel like it

fwiw
this game is very easy and forgiving for noobie toons which might have been unsalvageable in other games

I'm in the same boat except my first character is only level 20. I admit I never gave TOR a chance when it first went live because I was too caught up with another world famous MMO. She's trapped on "The Harbinger" server and I think the only way I can maybe make her decent is to buy her some Cartel gear and hope I can waffle stomp my way through like I made with my current characters. lol
LIke some of the others suggested, you could always learn a new crew skill and make it do, slicing, scavenging and the other money makers. It would be a shame to waste it all away especially when even at 46 it's still salvageable.
Plus, you can respec the character, so it can't be totally an epic failure.
good luck and what server are you on? Maybe all you need is some friends to help you through the bad times.

1. Since you have some orange gear, make sure they have blue 44 mods in them. try to have 2 relics and have something in each slot.

2. Make sure Elara is on medwatch ability and disable both of her attack abilities. Hit ~ key (left of 1 key) to view her entire bar.

3. Choose this spec: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#800MZ0cZcGbbdGGMs.2

And your rotation is Incendariy Round > Assault Plastic > High Impact Bolt > Unload > Hammer Shot (Charged Rounds as filler and open with mortar volley every chance you get.)

4. Make sure your Plasma Cell is on and your always buffed with the trooper buff.

5. Use Concussion Missile (1 min cc) on mobs you are having issues with.

Then heal until I'm at full strength. Then I try to take them. I used to be able to take those guys in long fights which was the norm for me and made sense given their levels. Then it got to the point where I could take them, but just barely. Now I just can't take them. The end the fight at about 10-20% health and I'm dead after popping a medpack and a heroic moment and kiting around. The gear I'm wearing is better than anything I can craft at this point and I can craft stuff that is higher than what I can wear. At the moment I'm broke from armor repairs.

Edit: If I give up on this toon I wouldn't delete him. I'd just set him aside and come back and play him at a later date.
Here's what I noticed about how bosses & missions are graded for difficulty (hope this doesn't get too confusing):

PARTY SIZE
Missions, zones, flashpoints & their bosses are color coded. What I found is that they are color coded for a specific party size. Green missions are average for single player + companion. Green 2-player heroic missions are average for 2 players + companions but play like a yellow for a single player + companion. Green 4-player heroic missions are average for 4 players, but play like yellow for 2 players + companions, and orange for single player + companion.

PLAYER ABILITY & CHARACTER LEVEL
Green equates to a level-appropriate player being "average", i.e. can hold their own. Yellow equates to advanced players who can not only hold their own, but they can micro their companion to hold its own too. Orange equates to players good enough to not only manage the entire fight, but can micro their companion at that same level. If your character is just below the planet's level range, add a level to the difficulty. If your character is just above the planet's level range, subtract a level from the difficulty.

GEAR
Gear wise, take a look at each planet's equipment commendation vendor and compare their ratings to what your character currently has. Having the current planet's level in gear would make you a green gear-wise. If you are still geared from the previous planet, add a level to the encounter because it's not up to par with the new planet. If you don't have the previous planet's best then add even more. So being undergeared means a green mission becomes yellow, yellow becomes orange, orange becomes red, etc...

Being normally geared and level appropriate I have found that most yellows can be soloable with a good bit of work, oranges with a lot of work and wipes, and reds ... no way unless the character and companion are both uber-geared (i.e. full flashpoint gear) and the player is uber and knows both their character's and companions' abilities and limitations inside & out and can react with them like it was second nature. Red-level soloists are rare.

This system isn't perfect, but if you are just looking to ballpark doability it's a decent start.
Can we please just have our pre-KotFE SWTOR MMORPG back?

Basically Belsavis mods across you and your favorite companion would be appropriate gear and the mission Imentioned gives you 3 belsavis commendations daily ( do it every day ) whilst you play on another character. As I wrote here.

Do that mission every day and eventually you will be level 49. Simple.
Do that while you think about what else you would like to do and by the time you get to 48-49 you can then face roll through voss and correillia. Especially when you get to level 50 early in voss , you get free tionese gear from the fleet.

I scrapped 2 level 50s for entirely different reasons though, I started on a standard pop PvE server and decided i liked PvP too much, also the server was severely lacking in numbers just a couple months after launch. It is a pain but fun sometimes doing it over and getting everything right.

Of course if transfers were available it would have saved me the trouble completely.

Should I change my spec that extreme? I'm specced gunnery at present.

I will go back to the fleet and spend my Belsavis comms. Don't know how many I have. I took gear for the most part. I'll get a screen shot of my guild and current skill spec and let the experts here weigh in on what I need to upgrade or if I'm undergeared. The missions in question are yellow to me.
Gunwalker Legacy FTW.

Quest Reward Priority: 1. Orange gear if better than what you have or dont have orange/purple gear in that slot. then comms. the green gear as rewards are worthless.

I changed your spec as it requires more brainpower to use and better than hitting grav round >grav round >grav round > high impact bolt > Demolotion Round.

As for showing us gear, you will need to tell us the specs of each piece of gear as only your total stats will be shown.
