I dont think its bleeding players, i think its increasing the number of subs in great part due to the steady flow of content that started to come in.

I agree with that however it's been steady for a while now

Since F2P the population has stayed constant.

Now this is completely anadoctal but while i have been streaming I have talked to quite a few people who have tried the F2P option and told me they have either resubed or subbed for the first time. The common consensus seems to be this is the state the game should have been in when it launched.

It seems the more people that are willing to try the game out again now seem to be liking it a lot more then at launch.

The game is still a snoozefest at level 50. Of course, that's an issue in any themepark MMO, it's just SWTOR has especially weak raids and repetative PvP.

Entitled whiners don't understand the new F2P model purposefully offers a stripped down version of the game to entice people to subscribe, because polls showed people were not willing to subscribe to the full version of the game (wait...what?!).

We are not hemorrhaging players, but we are also not growing. F2P took us back to roughly August's numbers - hurray! - but the game was in trouble in August. It's nice to see heavy servers and lots of people in Fleet, but with just 8 US servers left, it had better be crowded - and stay crowded - or we're done.

The hope now is that BioWare makes incremental fixes and improvements and the game grows modestly but "organically" for 6-9 months. The worry is that the tail-off resumes. Keep your fingers crossed.

The number of instances (on Harbinger at least) have increased steadily since the last server consolidation in September. At peak times planets had 1 or 2 instances, and fleet had 2 or 3 instances. Now planets have 2 to 3 instances consistently and fleet had a full 5 Saturday night. Not bad for 3 months. Contrary to what a few legend in their own mind types might erroneously "report", the game isn't bleeding anything.

Conversely, the 600lb gorilla is turning anorexic - it's down to 5 populated PvE & RP North American servers, plus 1 populated PvP server with 2 more designated for new players. The remaining 10 are PvP with low population designations. I think that game is the one that's bleeding.

Can we please just have our pre-KotFE SWTOR MMORPG back?

Not true at all. People are traveling to parents places, or whereever else. People are cooking, shopping, watching movies, playing board games, hanging with family/friends, going out to do holiday stuff, being busy. I myself am at my parents and cannot play SWTOR since their computer is balls.

Did you maybe not notice it's a major holiday for about 2/3 of the playerbase today? Maybe people are spending time with their families and friends? This weekend was the first time I noticed any drop in population since F2P went live, and it was back yesterday for a good part of the evening. Then it thinned out noticeable after 10:00pm (2200)... which is also to be expected on Christmas Eve.

Perhaps it would benefit you to just stay out of general chat. If you have that many people on a server for that long having a sustained grudge against you in general chat, then maybe you are doing something wrong. Just stay out of general chat. Oh...and before you tell me how you "shouldn't have to avoid general chat" let's remember that your stated solution is to quit the game completely. Why not just quit the action that causes the harassment, or the one that reveals it.?

Well see...

During the spring and the population goes down: It's spring everybody is outside.
During the summer and the population goes down: It's summer! Everybody is at the beach.
During the winter and the population goes down: It's winter! Everyone is out skiing.
During the holidays and the population goes down: It's the holidays, everyone is with their family.
After the holidays and the population goes down: Everyone is back at work.

There's probably a few things I've missed. But the key is to always have a reason (excuse) for every time of the year..

The problem is, there's been a lot of times where many people have taken a break from this MMO, or any other. And then they dont come back. Take D3 for example. A lot of my old guildies left when D3 was announced. Ofcourse, D3 sucked in the opinion of many people. But, most of them didnt come back to TOR.

So that is why there are so few players left. :P

Since F2P, my server is averaging around 220+ people on both fleets. I think the population is quite stable at the moment.
Eathos - Commando | Norzrik - Guardian
Kezron - Scoundrel | Ashinelle - Shadow
