Now whether it lives up to his hype about it, we won't know until we see it, it could just be boring, but I just want to point out that this is story writing done by the original team, started pretty early on in production. They didn't create Makeb for the purpose of eliminating class stories. They just made it because they wanted to put in more story. I feel that boycotting this material is simply misguided and unhelpful.
Ahh.. thanks for that post. It sounds promising.

*keeping all fingers crossed that there will be more companion-convos*
Female Mandalorians who romanced Torian are missing his Resol'nare and Mando'a lessons conversations since 4.0 launched. Please fix this!

Unfortunately, companion stories are considered "finished." If we ever get more story, I'm pretty confident that we'll have new companions to talk to rather than elaborating on the old ones.

Jeff Hickman may have decided that it will be paid for, however it doesn't change what Makeb is, and I believe it sounds worth paying a small sum for, regardless of whether they were thinking of not charging for it at some point. When they still had over a million subscribers, it probably seemed like a good idea to just give it away.

I still haven't seen where this was said, a link would be appreciated. I also posted a recent quote from Damion Schubert saying they do plan on eventually expanding on current companions at some point. I think adding more companions just compounds the issue of utility v. content, so I don't really think it would be wise on their part to add more. It'd be EASIER to update the current ones rather than add more for people to demand more story updates from.

Best quote ever. We are talking about EA, not some random Kickstarter project. They spent $300millions into this game BEFORE we even started to pay for it.
And now, they are making money selling event on cash shop and p2w ship part. Also, when this game was p2p, they said the add on would be free, IE they had enough money to develop it. Now it's developed. Which mean they used the money we gave them while in p2p.
Anyway, nice joke.

I pre ordered the first day. I love the idea that the story will finally take the tension between the Empire and Republic into account and have a story around that. While the class story was great it just did not give that feeling of the struggle that is should have been between the two sides. I hope that this will do just that..

Might even create enough faction relevance for players to engage in open PvP. It's already there on most planets. Many just don't know that all they have to do is flag themselves, have some friends lying in wait while they doink a PvP guard, and start a riot when word gets out.

My Juggernaut turned 40 today and was met at the PvP daily quest terminal with a quest to explore an open PvP area. Perhaps this will all tie in with the expansion? Would be pretty cool really. I've been in some epic open world PvP parties in this game that easily rival Wintergrasp.
Can we please just have our pre-KotFE SWTOR MMORPG back?

First off, $10 for an expansion?! Great Yoda's Ghost, how can you pass that up? Granted the F2P guys have to pay $20, but they get a bump up in their 'subscription level' from Free to Preferred. Even at $20, thats still cheaper than the latest expansion for That Fantasy MMO.

One thought that occurs to me is, What if the first 4 chapters were just a prequel, of sorts, to what is coming? Much like Ord Mantell, Hutta, Tython, or Korriban, what if the first 4 chapters of our character was just the 'starting point'...laying the background to get to where we are now.

Ive already pre-ordered the expansion because I want my Sith Marauder cathar....I want to see whats on Makeb...I want to see what kind of story is going to be written/told/portrayed in RotHC...I want what Star Wars has always been good at: Telling a story.

Would I love to see class-specific stories again? Yes. But realistically, thats going to take a LONG time for Bioware to make. Think about it. How long was Star Wars in Beta before it was released? How long was it in Alpha? How long was it being written and voice acted? The Rakghoul event was pretty simple to make and release, when you think about it. A few canned responses from your character to an NPC voiced by an in-house person doesn't take much. But to hire and schedule the original voice actors to come in and lay down new voice tracks? That's going to take time and effort and money.

While I wait for something like that, Im going to buy the expansion, pay my monthly subscription, and maybe even buy some coins on the cartel market. Some of the detractors will tell me im wasting my money, that i shouldn't spend one lead cent on the "Bioware Boondoggle". To those people, "Guys, the door is right over there. Im playing my game, thanks."
"I am the embodiment of death and suffering."
"You're in tech support, too?"

I welcome any cheque.

That being said, my end goal with this post, if you had bothered to read it, is actually to discourage people from spending in a general sense so they can use their money in a very specific way to support types of content that they enjoy, personally. For me, that meant unsubscribing and halting my Cartel Shop spending so I can support more playable species and story content in the future, specifically.
