What we have now cannot be called the Hero Engine anymore. Which supports what you're saying. That example above is just about as worthless as LoTRO examples for TESO.

They talk about it at one of those traveling dev things and in one later video. I dont have the link though. Its sounds like its in an alpha stage or maybe pre alpha not sure. Other than that no one knows. Im not sure why its still under wraps though at least with no details. There really isnt any mmo that would take it at this point as most of their competitors are fantasy mmo's and the space oriented mmo's i can think of already have decent to good space combat
