Rise of the Hutt Cartel questions

This whole thing is a PR fail. You release something that appears for all the world to just be DLC but you label it as an expansion and want to charge subs for what appears to just be DlC. If there really is more to this than just 1 planet and 5 levels then they need to say so at this point. Their fan base is ticked. People are unsubbing right now. If they are adding things like new species, new classes, etc.... like people have asked for then they need to freaking say so. Otherwise the perception is that you are giving people nothing and charging them for it. That's the perception. Many subs feel that they are being screwed and EA/BW are doing absolutely nothing at all to address these concerns. Horrible PR. Horrible customer service.

I agree with you in some of your points, the PR and customer service is bad, but thats EA for you... Anyway my question to you is, if you got all those unanswered questions, what would you do then?

Lets be honest, if they actually knew whats was in makeb they would tell us, hell they would throw videos at us like it was going out of fashion to get us to buy it, the clear near silence says more then them showing us stuff. ow and how big is makeb, er is as big as a big planet, thanks for that info.

Since there isn't an new one...guess the old one will have to do.

Kinda looks like the new ability will be new for Us the gamer....But old for the current NPC's in the game.

If you don't buy the expansion, you can't hit 55 and can't do any of the endgame ops the rest of your guild/friends will be doing.

I must be spoiled then, coming from City of Heroes, because there, the Devs actually communicated with us quite well, especially with weekly coffee talks, meet and greets, player summits, and they were all quite active on the forums and on other venues. If what you state above is what is the "norm" for MMOs....I weep for the loss of City and it's Community Management (all over again).

Its only $9.99. But being charged for "new ability's" that current NPC's already have is kinda odd.

Gotta love posting anecdotal experience and opinion and objective fact. Saying the fan base is ticked and people are unsubbing is inaccurate--many people are pleased with the new expansion, and are eager for it. My in-game friends are, as am I. I was very happy with the announcement. I will remain pleased with it IF--and this is a big if--they can continue the current rate of content patches (approximately one every 4-6 weeks). The game director said months ago that when F2P launched their goal was to have updates approximately monthly. I was VERY dubious that they'd come through on that, given the generally slow update rate throughout 2012. However, 1.4, 1.5, and 1.6 each had about 4-6 weeks between each one.

So, IF they keep the aggressive update schedule between now and launch of RothC, I will consider it $10 well spent.

I can see the legal loophole on this one. We get all future "Game Updates" for free....but a "Game Expansion" is something different....or at least that's what they will claim if they ever bother to answer any questions....
