Technically, it is a content update they have labeled an expansion in order to justify charging subscribers extra for it.

You are confused because of the semantics / marketing game BioArts is playing.

It comes down to your definition of an expansion. Based on the video game genre of this particular type of game, I call this a content update being labeled as an expansion.

Apparently the most vocal among us are content calling it an expansion because they are told that's what it is by the people selling it.

Ultimately, the choice is yours to believe what you want. No one will convince you (or me) otherwise.

Funny. I thought the implementation of the Cartel Store was the Rise of the Hutt Cartel. And no, I do not like what that story has to offer. I keep getting screwed in it.

AFTER F2P it is now packaged in with a purchased addition. I don't like to call it an Xpac, because it is not really a full fledged xpac like most games have.
Everything said before the game went F2P needs to be tossed out the window. They changed their release dates and ways to release things when they decided to go F2P.
Free-to-Play regarding this is completely irrelevant, nor is the time during the game, especially at a major gaming convention relevant. When people tell me empirically that it is a non-expansion pack (Bioware's own definition would make this a content update), then turning around and charging me for a non-expansion pack and calling it an expansion to justify the costs, is unethical and lacks integrity. Period.

No, $10 isn't a lot of money for what they are offering. All of you are too busy defending the game, which I used to defend BOTH Bioware and the players FOR the game.

This is just downright bait and switch.

Well you failed because your logic was flawed. So I am asking those who should know. EA/BioWare.

I know the feeling - been trying to get clarification on a couple of controversial issues since pre-launch and they won't answer.

I'll agree with you on the wording of it being called an "Expansion" they should've gone the route all other F2P's do and called at a "DLC pack" and stick with calling game updates "Updates".

So please BW in the future can you name these "DLC's" instead?!??!
"Wodaz here! I'm all about havin' fun. You know, get a couple cocktails in me, start a fire in someone's kitchen. Maybe go to SeaWorld, take my pants off. Anyway, I'm kinda known for my catch phrase WHAMMY!!!!!"

I agree its not about the money. If in the future there are to be Updates such as this every nine to twelve months fine but are there gonna be updates like 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6 as well? or will I need to pay for those?

Unfortunately, I agree with you here 100%.

It's unfortunate because I'd rather them hold off and release a full blown expansion after fixing the majority of glaring bugs and issues we currently have. DLC Packs would ensure that never happens. We'd just get it all piece-mail (as it seems they are doing). See how that works? I showed the difference between Expansions and DLC? You can strain your eyes rolling them like that. Also, the wording can make or break arguments for or against. Sure, there will be arguments either way but whether or not they are relevant can depend on the wording used.

I apologize, but words do actually have meaning and the meaning of words actually matter... especially when money is involved.

Oh I am in no way defending their actions. I am just stating that the way they se it is they had plans and since going F2P they have made new plans.
Just like how the last 2 and upcoming 3rd patch was originaly ONE patch and then they stretched the content to just one part of the patch and leaked it out slow enough to cover the whole year.

Ya no don't take my explaining it as i am siding with it, but that is more or less what happened and what will happen from here on out if they continue as they have.
