Ah! Found it: http://www.gamerzines.com/mmo/trial-...-republic.html

This video claimed "THIS YEAR" for Makeb...Spring is not "this year".
Crap happens and project deadlines/release dates change. Grow up.

Where is the problem? We will wait till spring. Other SH have announced games and expansions for 3 years before really launching em (SC 2, D3, Cataclysm, etc etc.), and you are complaining for 5/6 months delay????? Complain about the fact that they are reselling on the CM the same stuff over and over (watch today's gear) and I'll support you, but till then, to me, this is a troll post.

The problem is that it has been advertised, since June, as an expansion we could expect THIS YEAR! That was an official trailer and their official statement. My expectation is that if there is a delay in something they have advertised, they would communicate that to us, not string us along until the official pre-order announcement.

I understand that some developers, like Turbine, announce their expansions almost a full year in advance, and that's fine for them, but that isn't what we were told.

Well, you can purchase it today, which is this year.

So... what they told you was true, from a certain point of view. (Sorry, couldn't help myself.)

Real answer - This isn't the first time we've been lied to by BioWare. This isn't even the 100th. Why the shock?

I'm amazed they got F2P out this year, if there's one thing Bioware EA has been totally consistant on its being glacially slow on content and always behind schedule with it in an MMORPG (in WAR too, not just SWTOR).
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

Disagree. I've said over and over as have others (even days after) that "This year" was vague (probably intentionally so) and could mean as late as June 2013.

No, that would be "in the coming year" or "over the next year". "This year" is a very definitive timeline...words mean things and the word "this" indicates 2012.

You're assuming and you know what happens when you assume.
This year could mean:
- This calendar year
- This fiscal year
- Within a 12 month time span

There's a dramatic difference between saying "This Year" and "Coming in 2012" which they were very careful to never say.

What I think happened was their original plan was to have this all released within 2012, but F2P started getting worked on very close to E3. They went back into their video and said how can we save this, if we say coming soon we'll get crap like we always do, but it's a toss up if we can really complete F2P and all this content by the end of 2012. Guy in the back goes "What about just saying 'this year'" and that was history.

Saying this year rather than listing a year gives them a buffer of 6 months to complete and still technically say they met what they listed in their video. Also it would make sense that at E3 a yearly event they would show a spoiler for as much they know is coming (aka a full year if they know it).

Bull dude, this year is this year, it's not arbitrary dates...there is a very definitive date range for "this year". Stop pretending maybe they meant something else...they didn't. .
