Well, not exactly. Most of us wanted a newly added planet from the vast lore of Star Wars - like any of these:
  • Anoat - Episode V (mentioned)
  • Ansion - Episode II (mentioned)
  • Bespin - Episodes V and VI (added scene)
  • Bogden - Episode II (mentioned)
  • Boz Pity - Episode III (mentioned)
  • Bonadan - Episode II (mentioned)
  • Cato Neimoidia - Episode III (mentioned)
  • Dagobah - Episodes III (deleted scene), V, and VI
  • Dantooine - Episode IV (mentioned)
  • Empress Teta System - Great Sith War (not in saga)
  • Endor (moon) - Episode VI
  • Felucia - Episode III
  • Geonosis - Episode II
  • Iego - Episode I (mentioned)
  • Kamino - Episode II
  • Kashyyyk - Episode III
  • Kessel (giant asteroid) - Episode IV (mentioned)
  • Malastare - Episode I (mentioned)
  • Mustafar - Episode III
  • Mygeeto - Episode III
  • Naboo - Episodes I, II, III, and VI (added scene)
  • Nal Hutta
  • Polis Massa (asteroid) - Episode III
  • Saleucami - Episode III
  • Subterrel - Episode II (mentioned)
  • Sullust - Episode VI (mentioned)
  • Taanab - Episode VI (mentioned)
  • Tund - Episode I (mentioned)
  • Utapau - Episode III
  • Vulpter
  • Yavin IV (moon) - Episode IV

Essentially, anything but Makeb, but that is just my opinion.

I think if new content was to be spread about on existing planets, care would have to be taken to separate the low level content from the new high level content, or griefing would get out of control quickly.

I don't really care where they take place as long as they are still individual class stories that tie the whole game together like the current ones. I mean, as far as the planets currently in-game, we only visit a small area of them anyway.

You do realize why they didn't go with one of the popular established planets right?

Sure, people would object. I wouldn't be one of them.

The advantage of doing an unknown planet is the Canon Cops can't nitpick it into unplayability. Not being a Canon Cop, I'd prefer something where at least the name might be familiar. Also, I like being able to explore more of a world - see what's really behind a painted mountain and all that.

Whatever marketing gains by saying "Look! A new planet!" is probably lost by those saying "A new planet no one's heard of while more familiar ones aren't done."

Prepare to be extremely disappointed then. If you think Bioware is gonna write 8 brand new class stories for 50-55 then you're dreaming. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't even release it in Spring either, I'm thinking probably more towards summer is when they will release it.

I'd argue that you could release chapter 4 realistically with Makeb and one more planet plus a couple old ones. Hell, I'd like a combat free storyline on opposite faction's capital world. Perhaps either political or espionage. It could even be a seperate instance for only your faction like Taris.

I wonder how many of those could actually be used. Remember, this is the period of expansion in lore. Maybe those planets haven't been discovered or rolled into the Empire / Republic (think Voss). I wonder what their status even is this long ago.

I know I would like to go back to Korriban on my SI or Hutta on my BH, especially interacting with the people who used to order me about, but now with me having the power.

To be fair I don't care if C4 takes place on a floating marshmallow as long as it takes place soon!
British by act of union, English by grace of God, Northern by pure good fortune!

Ugh. Again. Is there a particular reason why you (almost completely) restricted yourself to planets from the movies, a timeline that is 3000 years later than the game? Planets like Endor or Naboo aren't going to be what you expect. For example, on Naboo, Otoh Gunga does't exist. The human population is still very small, as there have only been human settlements on the planet for 250 years, and not in any great numbers. No one really knows that Endor exists, and more importantly, we know that nothing of interest happens there, because 3000 years later, people still don't know it exists.

So, I reiterate yet again: SWTOR is a game set in the Extended Universe. It should conform to the Extended Universe. Trying to force it into the movie timeline is silly. Trying to bring culture from the movie timeline into the Old Republic is a violation of the lore. And yes, some people actually care. Some of those people are Lucasarts, who are depending on Bioware to add to the universe in a consistent way, since the SWTOR storylines are now Star Wars canon.

I think they under-utilized the starting worlds. Korriban and Tython have some really neat geography and atmosphere, and you spend very little time on them compared to later worlds. I think we spend enough time on later planets like Hoth and Belsavis that adding more content there would feel redundant, and a new planet is preferable to expansion there, but I definitely think the starter worlds are worth returning to.
...they'd never come to see me in this dive, where bikers stare at cowboys, who are laughing at the hippies, who are praying they'll get out of here alive...
