Okay. so let's talk about the first expansion.

There isn't even a trailer for this "expac" yet...Very weird...

So not a fan of DLCs then I take it.
People need to realize that this is not a patch it is an expansion to the game and is not being forced upon you. Im happy that we are finally getting an expansion and cannot wait.

STO had two great (Season 6 and Season 7) updates in the third trimester of 2012, Season 7 alone sounds like this Hutt expansion, but important is, they gave these for free. Anyone has full access, another thing is that what you unblock as a subscribers, stays with you (inventory, bank slots upgrades, character slots unlocked, no xp gain speed reduction) even if you go f2p.
Sure, STO does not have the superb voice acting SWTOR has, character customization is much richer, but item and gear customization is subpar, STO has great space combat, though, being the meat of that game. It manages all these by a diabolically shrewd f2p system, what allows player by player exploitation, and is able to mask it so both exploiter and exploited is happy.

Btw I am a 3 day old f2p-er, who swiftly gave in to the dark side of subscription, I even pre-ordered the expansion, although my highest lvl character is 23.

lot of subs coming up for renewal over the christmas season is my best bet.

Honestly though, if this doesn't sound like the biggest scam on Earth I don't know what is. Why the rush? Why do we have to preorder and expansion that hasn't even had a SINGLE video of "this is what you get!" No dev post, no patch notes, no list of content. What exactly are we buying? They want us to preorder NOW before they even announce what's in it so they can just yank as much stuff out of it later. It's the biggest bait and switch of the game waiting to happen.

Not my first MMO. I've been playing them steadily since 1998. And by the way, they can call this an expansion all they want. It is a DLC. As a subscriber to DCUO, DLCs are no charge.

So, no, not every MMO charges subscribers for this.

Well, now that I own TSW, I guess we'll see how that works out....

This is a cash grab for the holiday. Nothing more.

Where the hell did you buy them at? I have not paid more than $40 for a WoW expansion, including MoP at launch, and that was from Gamestop.

why would you not put all the good things you possibly can out to the people paying the money for the game. you would probably see an increase in profits
