This is an expansion, not a "regular content update". I am sure that when GW2 releases their first expansion, they will be charging for it.

Is the level 55 cap only for people who buy the expansion? If so, they can't rescale all current content for level 55.

Wonder what's gonna happen to my full dread guard gear with the lvl increase, is it gonna scale or is it gonna be obsolete, and will the ops be increase in lvl to 55 aswell or there will be no end game content, and also what about PVP gear, will that do the same

This is just content update you get in other MMOs for FREE.

GW2 will charge because it will be REAL EXPANSION like other MMOs, not SWTOR though, and regular content updates like Makeb are FREE in between.

It's not a content update, it's an expansion. Granted games like Wow add a lot more stuff with their expanions, but then again the price is also a lot higher. What bothers me is that there won't be anymore class quests. Class quests are my favourite part of the game, so I'm quite reluctant about buying this expansion and I really think BW could have put more effort into this ep and continue with class stories. Also, they said a while ago that they would add cathar as a playable race and yet I see nothing about it in this announcement? I would have prefered a more expensive ep but with more content, to be honest.

In what way is this an expansion and not an Content update? All this is, IS a content update with 5 more levels. still not worth of an expansion, Look at every other expansion e.g Vanilla wow to BC... THAT is an expansion.
