Okay. so let's talk about the first expansion.

Ive been hearing this argument quite alot. "but its cheap"... yeah sure it is.
But remind me again what im paying 15 bucks a month for?

By that reasoning they could (and probably will) start charging for more or less everything... they just "wont charge all that much" and everyone will be ok with it.
And before you know it your monthly subscription fee doubles because each month they release more small stuff that SHOULD be included in a monthly sub but will be added on as "pay to use"...

People who can afford a computer to play TOR with don't really consider it all that relevant if an expansion costs 10 or 40 dollah. Sure, cheap is great and all that but ether a new MMO expansion costs 10 or 40 dollars is never among deciding factors. People who play TOR care if the expansion is going to be good fun. They care if it is worth their time. They care if it is good product.

Generally with MMOs, time is more valuable for people than money. Every single time an MMO is considered, you end up spending absolutely terrifying amount of time and relatively modest amount of money. People want to make sure all this time is well invested.

It doesn't exactly fill me with optimism that they are preparing an expansion so modest in scale even EA doesn't have gall to charge more than 10 bucks for. According to EA's reasoning, if you buy..what, 3 or 4 göddämned ridiculous holo xmas trees, you have made an investment with more value than the expansion they are preparing for.

Initial launch announcment with no mention of Flashpoints, Operations, Warzones, New game features,tweaks or additions to skill trees,new talents, new classes, long waited quality of life fixes.
You get a new planet! You get a tiny increase in level cap! Woohoo my MMO is getting a content patch.

Also, find me one single expansion for any MMO ever that has cost 50 or 60 dollars.

Nope, just a greedy corporation that is testing the grounds for what players are willing to pay for... and you are all just throwing your money at them.

Its NOT an expansion, its content update with hefty price tag slapped on.

I definately WONT continue my sub (lucky that this was out before my sub was over). Ill just wait for it to go completely free lol

And you also pay for the servers upkeep, the fix, the GM, the CM and BW CEO car and secretary.

first digital expansion

They can call it "completely new game"/whatever they want, by industry standards its regular content update that in successful/semi successful MMOs subscribes get free of charge.

Also... lets look at this from a purely "size" perspective.
The planet is supposed to be lvl 50-55 i assume (since its combined with the level cap).
That means it would be on par with alderaan or tatooine in size.
Now, they may be expansive in area size, but i dont find them having enough content for me to be willing to pay 10 bucks for a "new tatooine".
And makeb is supposed to be a city planet from what information ive gathered, so it will be more like coruscant or corellia. And corellia had around 4 levels of content (47-50) meaning it will only be slightly larger in size than corellia is right now if you figure it being a city planet.

Are you really willing to pay 10 bucks (above and beyond your monthly fee) to get access to another corellia?
