what was your reasoning behind making every single Jedi Knight robe hooded?

Love this game, but "cart-before-the-horse" design philosophy...hiding the hood slot can give a player greater personal connection to their character (especially when she is sexy.) My once-pretty Sith Inquisitor now looks like a Victorian in a creepy gimp mask, or half-Jawa. Those are my options.

Letting me see her hair reminds me she is human. Remember when Obi-wan had his hood up in "Star Wars" and he was weird and mysterious and vaguely threatening, and then he took it down and he was suddenly, instantly relatable?

Don't see how "sympathetic connection to your character" is low-priority in the context of this game, when the storytelling is so diffused that the game necessarily struggles to be an engaging Bioware experience, even with the best writing possible.
The functionality is not there. Hiding the hood is much different than having a hood that is down. One is a lazy hack to fix a clipping issue, the other is a completed feature. I'd rather they put the feature in correctly than settle for a lazy hack.

KotOR was 300 years ago, he's allowed to alter his outfit. If you're arguing that the robes they give you are not the ones from KotOR then you should also be arguing that the robes he wears in the flashpoints are not "correct". The ones they give you are (will be) completely consistent with the robes he wears in SWTOR already.

Someone at BioWare might have a hood fetish. I want pretty hoodless robes
❤ Please make Talos Drellik a romance option for female Inquisitors ❤

That's what I exactly said in other threads... ^^

Was arguing with another chap who argued with a fella who was annoyed with the fact that we've got Revan's armor which is just a recolour of existing models (and being the correct one from the Foundry/Maelstrom with only a slight detail missing from the lower robes) instead of be ing a brand new model, based on the KotOR armor.

Hmm... ok. Let's say the reverse were true. What if they decided to make all hoods down at the outset with no hood toggle? Lol. We would see very similar threads to this one arguing that the iconic Jedi needs to be shown with his or her hood up.

Their decision not to implement a hood toggle is the issue, not that the default is up or down.

Yes, I believe it would be the issue as well. However I see no reason preventing them from placing two of the same chestpieces with only difference being the hood up or down.

I didn't misunderstand. I know that's what they are doing. I meant they acknowledged that the Revan robes don't match the robes appearing in the Flashpoint, and now they will. I am fine with this. I think the Foundry revan robes look close enough to the Kotor ones anyway. It would look even closer if they downgraded the shoulder swoosh to the plain shoulder pauldrons, and added a cape, but I don't really have an issue with just adding the loops.

Well I love hoods and I would love if they all continue to be hooded.
I'd only support a hoodless Jedi Knight robe/armor if they also introduced hood toggle with it, so I could put it back on.

That...doesn't address what I said at all.

They couldn't meet somewhere in the middle? Half the moddable pieces with hoods up and half with it down. At least as a hold over until they implemented a toggle.

We need an A Tab, or they should go back to the idea of having all bits of armour interchangeable.
Not sure why that was removed
